Yesterday I was in the lift in the subway with Kai in the pushchair and an old women was in there and she said 'can he walk?' I said 'yes' and then she says 'shouldn't he be walking then?' so I say it is dangerous in subways stations as all he does all is run and it is up to, and she cuts me short and says 'it's up to you' and walks off, not wanting to get involved in anything even though SHE started it. There was another woman in there and she was just rolling her eyes at her!

I wouldn't dare to comment on how someone parents it is none of my business and the normal comments I get are isn't he cold blah blah

Personally I wouldn't say she was commenting on your parenting as such but she was being very rude and nosey!!

I was actually trying to be nice but I get sick on being on display when I am out with Kai, actually I should have let him out and he would probably have gone over to her and done something to her lol. There is a reason he is in the pushchair and if I am going far there is no way on this earth that I won't take it with me.

LOL I agree 100%. Just remember though back in their day things were different  My Nan keeps telling me that Harrison will turn out lazy if I don't let him walk about with me, I do let him walk but he hates holding your hand so I just use the buggy for the quick outings as its safe and I let him walk when we're out for longer and somewhere safe.

He walks a lot when we are out, but we have to keep a close eye on him as he runs off at any given opportunity and he is actually faster than us!

The other thing is if other kids are about, I could write a book on the amount of problems I had in that area but he likes to hug still and he hugs very aggessively so most likely the other kid will fall over and cry and Kai is fine lol Most kids hate receiving hugs, even Kai!

I won't let him out on buses or trains as I know he won't sit still and sometimes if you let them do something once then you can't get out of it.

When the weather gets better here, we are knee deep in snow atm, we will be doing a lot more walking in the summer and then the parks will finally be habitable to use, all the parks are just big blocks of ice and we only managed to go once this year so far.

i would just tell em to fcuk off, its nowt to do with anyone else, nosey old cow!

Have you ever thought of using a baby harness?
They are a literal godsend.
No need to be holding hands or anything but they can't run off either.
I'd be lost without mine.

Bitch! I would of told her too fook off as well the interfering old bag!

God this pisses me off! I just dont understand why people think they have the right to comment on a perfect strangers parenting! I get it all the time, stupid comments like "oh she'll never walk if you carry her everywhere!" Shes been walking since she was 10 months old moron!

Id have told her to mind her own buisness hun.

I do use an harness but in some ways if I am on my own with Kai and the pushchair then sometimes it is more trouble, it is fine when I don't have the pushchair or if my husband has the harness and I have the pushchair.

When the weather gets better we will be going on our walks again like we did last summer

Tell 'em to feck off, I hate people who feel the need to make comments like that :x

This seems to be really common, people thinking they can make comment on whether a child is in a pushchair or not. I even saw someone wrote into a magazine recently banging on about how people put their kids in pushchairs when they can walk. Yes they can walk but if you want to go out for the day or are walking quite a distance then rather have a kid in a pushchair than a screaming tired one you then have to carry.

Silly bints!

It's funny when we brought a pushchair for Kai and he was around 3 months old we asked in the shop how long the pushchair is suitable for, and she said until he walks, so we both gave her a strange look and she said as soon as they are able to walk you don't need a pushchair at all, so when we go in there with Kai now we get some funny looks from her
