I had my 20wk scan this wk and told everybody i wasnt finding out the sex, but as soon as the scan was done ppl started ringing and texting asking what it was thinking i would of changed my mind once i was there.
Lots of mums at playgroup and the school run look at me asif im crazy for not finding out sending me messages on facebook and waiting at the school gate to see if i give in and found out i the end.
A few years ago you didnt even get the chance to find out now these days its just the norm.
I'm so happy i didnt find out and cant wait till sept to see what im getting has anybody else had this off family and friends?

I didnt want to find out the sex, I did with Rosie and because we wont have any more children I wanted to have that surprise. My MIL constantly goes on about it being a boy, she thinks she saw a willy on the scan and so does my OH, its immensely irritating and as far as Im concerned doesnt respect my decision - I have specifically chosen girls names and keep dropping them in front of her!

People are just nosey and probably a bit jealous, dont take any notice, hold up your head and say yes, I'm having a........

BABY!

Good on you i say, i admire anyone who can stay team yellow and wouldn't judge them for it!

Like you say it's just what people expect these days as it's so popular to know. When i had my first almost 14 years ago i never found out and no-one ever asked me as it wasnt the norm to know or find out. People forget that some do still want a surprise even now!

Hold your head up high and sod em!

Ii did find out last time but I won't be if i'm lucky enough to have another I too want a suprise at the end of all that hard work

I absolutely admire anyone who can stay team yellow! Good on you! x I have the opposite problem-most people look at me like I'm a bad mother for wanting to know the sex! The looks on their faces is like I've just told them I've just eaten their pet! Ps Lanny-we're from just outside Middlesbrough x

It is strange and somewhat amusing how it winds everyone else up other than us, my grandmother was very disappointed that she wasn't able to knit a pink or blue cardigan!!!

My response is that we really don't mind what we have, as long as it is healthy and happy... usually enough to make people stop and think

i think its just personal choice i didnt find out on my 1st but did on my other 3 and all my labours and excitement was the same only i had blue or pink things with me haha i only find out because its easier for me to get prepared my husband didnt want to find out on his 1st my 4th but about a week before he changed his mind and wanted to kno wthen they couldnt tell us so we paid for a private scan and im glad we did as my fil passed away before my son was born and he knew we was having a boy at least so i think it just varies as for what is the norm i think what ever you chose to do is the norm
just like what drugs to have during labour everyone is different i dont see why people should be shocked that you didnt want to know people eh hahaha

We haven't found out! I'm so proud of us for it too :-) It takes a lot of strength to say no at a scan, especially knowing that all the sonographer has to do is move the scanner just a little bit further downwards and...WOW, It's a...?! lol!

We're off for a 4D scan next Sat and I hope we can maintain our strength and not find out! Everyone who demanded we found out before has gotten so used to the idea i think they'd kill us if we found out on Sat! lol!

My friend however, keeps asking if i'll get the sonographer to write the sex on a piece of paper and put it in an envelope for her! I'm like you're NOT finding out the sex of my baby before me or Jamie! lol!

I admire you for not finding out, i was so torn as to whether to find out or not, we gave in as we were just so excited lol

We have decided to keep it our little secret as we think its quite romantic and something personal we wanted to share but like you everyone called asking if we found out and seemed to be really disapointed when i said no we didn't!! I think its quite amusing watching them try to guess the sex, most of em will be shocked in september!! hehe

I do feel a little guilty on my mum but i know she will understand :)

so dose nobody know uses know? thats a great idea i think that would be harder to do then staying team yellow, as i think once i know i;d want to tell everybody lol
I think thats why i wanted to stay team yellow this time as i didnt find out with my first and nobody knew a thing and was great telling everybody its a boy his name etc.
But 2nd time i found out as i really wanted a girl and thought it would be better if they told me early on if it wasnt lol anyway she was and everybody knew and even knew her names wks before she was even born to there was nothing to tell, atleast you still have this.

Go Team YELLOW!!! :) I didn't find out, I was very tempted!! But me and OH stayed strong & said no!! Alot of people and had their opinon on the subject & can't believe we never found out!! I think it's great to find out & not!! It's what ever you feel comfortable doing & no one should judge us!!! :)

so I know how you feel my mil, loves to stick her 2 pennies worth - like always I bite my Tongue & smile :) hehehe!!!

Team yello rocks!!!

X

My friend found out but wouldn't tell anyone - we all guessed though as she was always referring to 'him' lol!

I wouldn't have been able to keep my trap shut if we'd have found out! x

Nope, nobody knows except me, OH and sonographer hehe.

We had a huge debate whether or not to find out and the agreement was that if we did, we would keep it to ourselves so my OH would still be able to 'announce' it later on.

Your right though it is hard, but at the same times its a nice secret that me and OH are sharing

I am team yellow too. We decided not to find out the sex at the 20 week scan and wanted to wait and to have a surprise. I was tempted at one point but we decided to wait and see. A lot of people are surprised that we didn't find out but if we did then I know that we wouldn't have been able to keep it a secret. Also I have a friend that was told she was having a little boy last year but it was actually a girl. She didn't mind but had bought lots of boys things and decorated the nursery for a boy.

I have my scan on 11th June, Ive been uming and ahhing but i didnt find out with my other two and dont think I want to with this one either. Makes is so much more fun when u have it and people ask I think :)

We are staying team yellow.. not strange at all hun, I am looking forward to finding out on the big day!! :yellow:
