I'm sorry you didn't have a positive experience at your scan. A gestation sac and yolk sac is exactly what you should see at 5+4. It's great that an ectopic has been ruled out, so hopefully your pains are just stretching pains. I have experienced similar in all 3 of my pregnancies. At your next scan you should be able to see a fetal pole measuring about 13+ mm with a heartbeat, if this is seen in week 8 then miscarriage risk drops to less than 0.5%. Good luck.
