I got my BFP today, but I'm worried about the stomach cramps. Can't get into see doctor until next thursday but according to my dates I will be 7 weeks on Saturday. I'm so bloated and feel like my tum is gonna explode but whats worrying me are the cramps - it's exactly like period pains. I've had it for about a week and half now. Is this normal? I've heard its probably stomach stretching. It's worse down my right hand side?

Hi hun
Congratulations on your pregnancy.
Firstly I was massively bloated, infact I still am. And it gets quite painful at times. And as for the cramping I had that a lot, I had a really weird twisting pain as well. All sounds normal to me, unless the pain is sharp and on one side. Or you experience any bleeding or vomiting with a temp, I don't think you have anything to worry about. If you have any of those side effects and you can't see your gp till next Thursday I would nip to your a&e department.

My mum says it does feel like period pains, it's normal, i've been getting them too

Cramping, stretchy, achy pains are quite normal as things grow and expand and get pushed around in there. But if it gets too bad I would definitely go and see a doctor/A and E right away, especially if the pain is significantly worse down one side.

Thanks guys, no bleeding and no vomitting so fingers crossed :) xx

Congrats!!
Don't worry about the cramps, they are totally normal! I had them for weeks when I first found out and still get the odd one now and then. Exactly like Period Pain!

Congrats , period like pains are totally normal so try not to worry xx

Echoing what the other ladies have said.

Cramps are normal and a good sign little bean is settling in.

Mine are worse if I over exert myself. So I think it might be a way to remind us to take it easy.

Yeah I've noticed that by the time I get back from work at night and sit down they start to wear off, then lying in bed the almost disappear. My clothes are sooo tight though so sat at a desk all day in tight trousers probably doesn't help. Never realised just how worrying all this pregnancy business is :)

Oh it's worrying alright. It never stops! I had the worst period like pain ever, was a massive shock to learn of my BFP! Think it's all pretty normal. Oh and congratulations! Xx

i've been getting cramps since I found out and my midwife, dr and Fertility specialist nurse have all confirmed that its just stretching of muscles etc...so don't panic :)

It is very worrying to feel them though....but like the others said as long as there is no bleeding you should be fine and dandy :)

Congrats on your BFP :)
