Still waiting for 1st appointment date

Everyone in here seems to have their first appointment booked but me. I went to my GP 2 weeks ago tomorrow. I was 4+6. I'm now 6+5 and thought the booking appointment would be around 8 weeks, but I still haven't heard anything. It would be great to have a little notice if I need to take time off. Confirmed with GP where I wanted my referral to and she said they should be in touch shortly. She said first scan around 12 weeks, but surely that wouldn't be my 1st appointment.

I just really hate this waiting. We haven't told anyone, so don't even have anyone to talk to about it. OH won't even let me tell my best friend and her OH, who is a doctor who specialises in this area and just had twins 4 months ago.

If I don't hear anything this week, would I be within my right to ring the hospital I've been referred to to follow up?

I know the wait is excrutiating.. I have heard in some regions that they do do the 1st scan and booking in all in one go so perhaps that's what's going to happen? I think it's worth a call to the hospital to ask what protocol is, just say that you haven't been given any information and would like to know what to expect! It's easy where I am as you just book your own appointments with the community midwife so I made my own booking in apt for 8 weeks and they referred for my scan (which did take almost 3 weeks to come through!) I had to contact my local midwife base and speak to my midwife and she booked me in and did what she needed to do then referred me to the scan

Hello, I've been waiting ages for my first appointment haven't even seen anyone at all yet
Driving me crazy. I'm 11 weeks tomorrow ... And gotta wait another week until my
First midwife appointment .... I'll be 12 weeks then. So god knows when my scan will be :-/ xx
I booked private scan had it few weeks ago )) made the wait not so bad xx

Thanks everyone. I'll contact them this week to see if I can get booked in. We've been thinking about a private scan, but they aren't cheap. It would just be nice to know something.

I was put on hold when I called my GP; the receptionist didn't really seem to know what to do/who to book me in with. I have a doctor's appointment on the 26th but have had to wait since I rang last Monday for this. I'm guessing my GP will then refer me to a midwife. Oh and I'm 6+3, but only found out I was pregnant last Saturday when I got back from holiday.

I rang my doctors last week. I have an appointment on Wednesday at 6+5 to see a midwife at my Gp's. My youngest is 13 months. Last time I so a midwife, then had my bloods done at my local surestart then booked my own scan over the phone. So I'm assuming it will be similar xx

I have an appointment for an early scan at EPU due to recurrent miscarriage but I've not got any otherwise.

I've not even seen my gp yet. If all is ok at my scan in a couple of weeks, then I'll see gp who will arrange referral to the mw. Booking in is usually done between 8&10 weeks in my area, so if it's the fact where you are, you've still got plenty of time to hear from them so I wouldn't worry too much.

I've been so busy and feeling so ill that I never rang them, but I got the call this afternoon and I finally have a date for my booking appointment. I know there won't be a scan, but it'll be nice to just get things rolling. Roll on Saturday.

In NI your booking appointment and dating scan are in one appointment unless you are using community midwife and not based near a hosp. So maybe its tge same where you are based? I had my appointment at 13 weeks. Hope you hear soon!

Thanks Maaaaaac. I finally got the call and a letter in the post. I'm going to my local hospital, but they have scheduled me for 3 different appointments. Today will basically be urine test, blood pressure, height and weight and medical history. Then on the 17th it'll be blood work and then my scan on the 26th.

Oh im a dope didnt see you got appointment through already sorry! Haha. Three appointments? What a pain though youdthink they could double up some of it!
