Starting to feel real

Congratulations on the pregnancy! My instinct would be to find the info on the NHS website. MW should also be able to offer some guidance. The women I've know that had C-sections were perfectly fine, but obviously there's good and bad stories of all births (section and vaginal) but in all likelihood she'll be just fine. Ladies on here who've had them will be able to help you more.

C-sec is a very common procedure done daily for thousands of women. If that is what the consultant recommend then I would not worry as their top priority is your child and your wifes health :)

Hi there
An acquaintance of mine is a consultant gynaecologist and, having seen enough deliveries, opted to have 2 c-sections for her babies even though there was not any medical need to do so.

One of the main consequences of c-section is that for the next 6 (?) Weeks after having one, the mum will not be able to lift things and will need a lot of physical support from the people around her, but sounds like you're the sort of guy who would be able to assist week with that :)

My midwife said the only place you should be looking online is the NHS website as you can just worry yourself unnecessarily otherwise. I'd be pretty confident that a C-Section is fully routine enough not to worry about it though! It may be a relief in some ways not having to go through the pain of labour!

Congratulations to you both!

Hello I had my c section 8 months ago. It wasn't planned but they was very good with me and explained everything. Ok course the recovery time is very long and its very invasive but if she has lots of help you will be ok. My other half had 4 weeks of work and im so glad he did. I wouldn't have coped otherwise. He had to cook, wash up and we'll everything. His very good and told me to rest as he saw I was in alot of pain. I still have some pain here and there now and still numb but it's ok i guess. When we have another child I will be given the option for c section, I'm not sure what I will decide as it was for me very painful and the recovery is so long.

However if this is what the consultants are saying then your best to listen to them
