I was sooooo getting into the festive spirit and seeing family and hohoho but i'm starting to get a sinking feeling about it all and think it would be better spent under the duvet.

We go to drop of presents at the inlaws and they're a miserable bunch

MIL's first words are that she's never felt worse after she had some neck surgery a couple of month ago to treat a trapped nerve, but honestly she looked much better off than she did before.

FIL had shingles a few month back and he's still going on about that and being old in general.

SIL has flu and she did look like crap... but it was like she couldn't even manage a smile.

What happened to people putting a brave face on?! It sounds like they're not even bothering with xmas dinner. Too much trouble.

Hubby has been ranting on about seeing them on Boxing Day because we aren't spending xmas with them and we mention it to them as we're leaving and they say "well, phone first and we'll see...."

Then there is my family!

I speak to dad on the phone and he sounds like a broken man. All monotone and uninterested.

I find out we're being snubbed my my sister, not because she is having xmas dinner with her asshole of a OH but because she doesn't think my nephew likes turkey... he ate it last year! So she is staying at home alone while hubby goes to his parents... i don't get it :wall2:

My brother is going on holiday on Boxing Day so he will be preoccupied.

*sigh* i'm not even sure what i expected from christmas with family anymore :(
