spotting or light flow - how would you describe difference?

I think AF has arrived - although that makes my cycle very short at only 22 days. (normally 25)

But maybe, as I havnt had much bleeding today, but loads of cramps, you would call it spotting?

spotting i would say is only upon wiping, light is enough for a towel to be catching small amount of blood, cramping is sign of pregnancy as well as AF xxx
