Spent all afternoon at the hospital now bleeding!

I had my 36week check at the Drs but wasn't feeling too great.
Yesterday I had several episodes of feeling very damp down below but thought it was just sweat as I was hot. I also had an upset tummy last night along with period pains and tightenings so Dr sent me to the assessment unit. I was hooked up to the monitor, babys HR and movements were fine and over 30 minutes I had 11 tightenings which they decided were BH just very uncomfortable!

Because of the damp feeling yesterday and still having it today they did an internal. They said that my cervix is closed and they think its just excess discharge. The only thing is that now I'm home I've found that I'm bleeding . I phoned them and they said that I have a few cells on the outside of my cervix which can bleed after an internal and to keep an eye on it. If I have more then to phone them back but I'm still freaked out! Has anyone else had this after an internal?

Not had this hun but didn't want to read and run. Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. I know it is quite common to have a little blood after an internal - similar to having it after sex as cervix can get irritated but if you're worried hun and its more than just spotting id give them another call xx

thanks hun I think its been such a long time since I've seen blood on a pad that it really freaked me out! I'm sure it will settle down if it hasn't by the morning I'll give them a ring. x x x

When I was in at the weekend they gave me an internal and I had a small amount of bleeding afterwards which they said was normal. If it gets worse or hangs around too long I'd deffo go back though x

Yes, I have... I always get bleeding after an internal, I think they are too rough with us. I'm sure it is just coming out after being prodded and will stop soon xxxx

I was gonna say irritated cervix too. Like the others have said keep an eye on it and ring them back if bleeding gets worse. Hope you feel better soon

The exact same thing happened to my mum when she was pregnant with me. It was her first pregnancy so when she realised she was bleeding after an internal, she burst out crying and thought something was wrong. xxx

I've just had some tea and feel much more rational as hadn't really eaten all day! It seems to be settling which is good, thanks for your replies x x x
