We have had a terrible time trying to decide on names, i am english and OH is spanish, so we needed something which would work in both languages.
I dont find generally find spanish names very exciting, they are quite limited and dont do unusual names.
In English, i wanted Catherine (my middle name, and my nan is kathleen) and for the boy we liked Jacob.
However we have decided to go for the Spanish version of these names, because it will be fairer on them if they spend their life here in Spain, and if we go back to the UK, they will be fine there too, but no middle names, because they will have both our last names as per Spanish tradition so they will be...
Catalina and Santiago.
I just hope they suit them once they are born, because it has been a nightmare deciding on these! Lol!

I have a friend who had twin boys her husband is Catalan and she is Scottish... they went for one of each a Scottish Name and a Catalan name.. so they have Robbie and Joel (pronounced the Catalan way not the westernised way... )

I like the names you've chosen xx

they are lovely names. My daughter goes to athletics with a Catalina, and its sooo unusual and lovely! well done for choosing when its tricky with you being english and hubby Spanish..

Thanks ladies, it really has been a tricky one, and i doubt myself every day still!
It has not been easy at all, but i am thinking more about what they get shortened to, and i like Lina or Cat, and Santy or Yago (sounds really nice in Spanish and the name OH really wanted) So i guess i look at it in a way that no matter what shortened version people use,i will like it ;)
Not telling the family yet though, my side will likely be unimpressed with the Spanishness of it all, lol!

My friends husband is Santiago... we all call him Santi xx

I like them both, plus they can be shortened to suit them at different stages of their lives xx

Thanks guys, you are making me feel much more confident about these choices!

They are gorgeous names, really love them I was thinking of spanish names for our LO. we got married in spain almost 2 years ago abd gave such a connection with the place that we even thought of bringing baby back to be christened there in the sams church, but really thing your names are fabulous
