So my little girl is only 8 days old so I know I'm far from back to my old self, but I have this terrible 'heavy' feeling in my bits. It feels like, as the title says, that someone has attached a bowling ball or a weight to my precious part and if I'm on my feet for too long, I really feel it and need to sit down.
I made the mistake of googling it and found myself in the middle of prolapse pages, which I'm really hoping is just google being scary rather than actually being the case!
I asked my mw today and she said its perfectly normal and will go eventually, but didn't give any indication of when.
Any one else experienced this heavy, dragging fanny, and give me some advice?
Thanks :) xx

Hey hun, yes!!! I was in agony and thought I'd damaged behind my cliterous (sorry way TMI!) i tope upwards in labour so thought it was to do with that at 1st. it was especially sore if I sat up in bed feeding Ella! It's gone off now, I was out walking a few miles at wknd with a dibble buggie weighing a tonne and feel great so it does get a lot better xxx

Thank god! This is one of the things no one warns u about when ur preggers lol. I have a first degree tear but have no idea what direction it goes. I didn't need stitches so thought I'd escaped this sort of thing lol x

I had the falling out feeling too. Not all the time but it was most unpleasant. Keep doing your pelvic floor muscles and that will help tighten everything up down there.

I had it too. Don't worry, hun, it should get better in a few weeks. Keep doing those pelvic floor exercises even if they feel weird/weak right now. xxx

Yup had it to :) I found a lavender oil bath works a treat.

You get half a glass of milk and put in 8 drops of lavender oil and pour it in the bath, then have a soak :) helps the healing process too.

I had it for about a week, and I had a csection (although she did come down the birth canal and had to be pushed back up!)

I think its normal, its most likely everything slowly shifting back into place x

Thanks so much girls! So glad to know its normal and will go soon.
Was out and about for 2hrs today and really felt like my fanny was at my knees by the time I got home :( xx

How far down did she get? If you don't mind me asking!! I had a c-section after getting stuck at 6cm, but they could feel her head so she obviously made 'headway' (please excuse the terrible pun :oooo: ). I get shooting pains down there like I did when I was pregnant, and although it's not the same as this heavy feeling that jayjay's describing I'm just wondering if it's because down there is a little bit stretched even though she never made it that far?

Sorry for hijacking jayjay, I'll let you get back to your knee length fanny ;) xx

I think she got right the way down...

I was taken for emergency section because i hadnt done 8cm-9cm in an hour

But, by the time I got my spinal and got into surgery id gone to 10cm and could feel pressure but they wouldnt check!!!

When they made the incision they usually have someone check the foof area i think, incase baby needs a hand, and they realised her head was quite far down.

They went with the c section because theyd already made the incision and there would have been a risk of my uterus collapsing apprently if theyd used forceps.

To be honest, i was gutted as I know she would have come naturally if id just waited a little longer.

Yep had the same I assumed it was just were it was all swollen up after the trauma!!
xxx

CONGRATULATIONS!!

I had the feeling of my insides falling out for months after birth! I couldn't stand for long at all and had the constant feeling of I must sit down or something is really going to fall out.

It was worse when walking! Thankfully it does get better, just takes a wee while.

Oh I'm off to look for your birth story! Hopefully you've posted it :) I was wondering about you and if you'd given birth yet.

Hope (apart from the heavy feeling) that you and bubba are doing well.

i had this for about 3 weeks before i finally felt better.

congrats on your lo. x

Yeah this feeling went for me after about 3 weeks, horrible ain't it :( xxx

It is normal to have it for a few weeks. So don't worry. However if it's not gone after couple of months go back to docs abd insist on internal. Took 6 months to get my prolapses and other nasty stuff diagnosed. It is rare though to have prolapse so am sure in your case it's just hornones and swelling x

Oh, I had this too hun. I also checked google & thot i was having a prolapse, its literally like standing up & as you said, you feel like your insides are really heavy & falling out. I found pelvic floors helped alot & arnica - arnica is amazing for swelling, with my first LO I didn't use arnica & had that for 8 weeks, with 2nd LO I used arnica day of birth & it dissapeared after i'd say 4 weeks

xxxxxxx
