Sock, shoelaces and other things...

Just spent last week away in the countryside, so took my walking boots without really thinking about it and I really struggled to get them on! Have to sit down with my legs spread (really ladylike) to accomodate bump then I huff and puff to get them on. OH had to refasten them while we were out walking though as one lace came undone and I couldn't bend town to do do them up while standing! I normaly wear ankle boots or slip in calf length boots and side zips seem much easier than laces.

I keep thinking about getting some Ugg style boots, but I walk heavily on my instep, so soft shoes like that I tend to find the sole of my foot slips over the edge of the sole. I also read that those style of boots don't give your ankle enough support so you shouldn't wear them in pregnancy as you're more likely to fall over. How are you guys finding them though?

i have to roll over to get out of bed, roll over to get off the sofa, if Im sitting on the floor I have to get onto all floors to push myself up and grab onto something. Im on mat leave now so no more socks for me... just slippers.
I leave the laces done up on my trainers so I can attempt to just push my feet into them.
I find Ugg boots are fine to get on.... but more difficult to get off..... end up shaking my foot and flinging them off halfway across the room!

Yup I no longer bend in the middle either!!

I have succumb to a couple of weird and wonderful devices developed for the elderly/disabled though!!! OH works shifts so not being able to get pants/socks on/off til three in the morning was not an option!!!

I have a 'grabby stick' to pick things up off the floor as I was looking like some demented giraffe with my legs akimbo almost doing the splite to pick things up!!

Also I changed my trainers laces for those bungy type laces so you can just slip your feet in!!

Bought more leggings at Sainsburys today and a couple of huge fleecey tops to keep me going!!

Yes I know I am old!!
