I haven't posted in awhile, just haven't been myself recently, finding it all really overwhelming!

I ebf my 16 week old and he still goes 1.5-2 hours during the day and only does 4/5 hours at night then wakes up every hour so I pick him up and he falls back to sleep before I feed him. he will feed every 2 hours though, not sure why he wakes every hour. Will he ever sleep through? Because he feeds so regularly my family keep pressurizing me to wean him but I know it's far too early but the pressure is making me more irritable along with sleep deprivation. I want to continue bf but I'm just so tired!

I need some success stories to keep me going..is there a light at the end of the tunnel??

Don't give in to pressure!
That all sounds typical but it won't last, promise.
My lo only feeds twice in the night now and once every 4-6 hrs during the day x

How old is your LO?

my LO used to sleep around 11pm (late!) and wake up around 3/4 and then 6/7 then back to sleep till 8/9. I now put him down at 9.30pm/10 and he doesn't seem to do well with that. He's so grumpy during the day as well.

He's 6 months old and I must admit that until about 8 weeks ago he was still feeding about 4 times at night.
He also fed really regularly throughout the day but he's my 5th bf baby so I knew this would be the case.
It can be a bit of a shock though can't it.
It's still early days for you (I know it doesn't feel like it!) but it will spread out and it will get less at night x

My DS1 was like that, i took him to osteopath and it improved things

Tapatalking so cant see signatures

I used to get up 4 times roughly in the night until i introduced an expressed bottle of milk at bedtime, now he only wakes once or twice between 9pm and 6am. I guess because he drinks more from the bottle he doesn't get hungry as quickly so sleeps for longer.

Ooh little one is 9 weeks and we started this routine two weeks ago. He isnt a big daytime sleeper tho and does use me as a dummy for his cat naps

Zall can your LO self settle yet? Does he go in his cot awake and fall asleep ok?

We have noticed since we have been letting Luca self settle a bit after putting him in his cot awake he actually is settling himself by sucking his thumb. Since he has done this he now just sucks his thumb instead of waking me for a feed. It could be he is waking you between sleep cycles as he needs comforting? That would explain why sometimes he settles as soon as you pick him up.

It will get better though but it may be a sleep issue rather than a feeding issue?

Sounds totally normal lovely.
LO is still teeny so will still be waking for a feed. Milo is nearly 6 months old and still wakes for a feed around 11pm then again at 3am then 6am then up for the day around 8.30am.
It will get better, don't give in to peer pressure you are do amazingly xx

Wss Hun it can be exhausting but they have so many growth spurts and developmental changes going on. Xx

Thanks everyone, you've made me feel better about it all. LO sleep is much better he wakes up 2/3 times a night and is asleep straight away after his feed. It must have been a growth spurt/leap. Xx
