My stupid waters went at 3.30pm yesterday, I've had contractions start, increase in intensity and regularity but then each time the homebirth team have come out things all stop :-(
So now I'm faced not only with probably having to go in to hospital but also not being allowed to use the pool because of increased risk of infection - so angry with my stupid body, thought second baby would be quicker not longer! Please send lots of big strong contraction vibes!!

Oh Amelia, your luck could still change. I wish you lots of strong contractions. The following are contraction dust: :dust:

Sending you lots of luck! Just finished my nct and they suggested having one glass of wine and putting a film on if this happened, relaxing can really help....I really hope it does for you! Come on contractions! X

Oh Amelia, I hope your little baby is soon here xx

No contractions so going in to hospital in a couple of hours :-(

This can still be a wonderful experience. Stay positive. Hopefully you will see your lo very soon. :)

So far it has been horrible - I hate hospitals. Only saving grace if that the lovely midwife who delivered my first baby at home is on tonight and has asked to look after me once I go in to the labour ward. Had the pessary 4.5 hours ago which hadn't really done anything so will probably have to have the drip - so so fed up as just wanted a normal delivery like my first

Hope you are having cuddles by now! I'm sorry that birthing hasn't gone to plan xx

Fingers crossed baby has arrived ? X

Sorry for lack of update until now!
I went on the drip at about 11pm, contractions started almost immediately and built quite quickly in intensity. By early hours of morning they had become incredibly painful and frequent, totally different from the natural progression I'd experienced first time round. I was assessed and was only 5cm and at that point I gave in and asked for an epidural - I was so so upset and angry at myself for not being able to cope on gas & air but midwife was lovely and kept saying that induction is completely different to a natural labour and to stop beating myself up over it! After 3 nights of no sleep the epidural was brilliant as I managed to sleep for 2 hours. Next time I was assessed I was already 10cm! Midwife said she'd give me an hour before pushing to get baby as low as possible to try and prevent having to have a section or instruments . Just as I asked hubby to stop topping up the epidural the buzzer went off on the epidural bag as it had run out completely. So it actually worked out well, by the time I started pushing the epidural had worn off enough for me to be able to feel the need to push.
Baby Hugo was born at 9.53 on Saturday 30th May, weighing a whopping 9lbs11oz, managed to deliver him naturally and with no need for stitches.
Had to stay in for observations for 24 hours but by lunchtime on Sunday we were home and finally reunited with my other son who had been staying at grandparents for 3 days since my waters had gone.
Now getting to grips with having a newborn and a 15 month old. God knows what I would do without my hubby who has been amazing throughout everything
I'll post a photo shortly x
