Hi I was wondering if any one else experienced any problems with clear blue ( non digital )
My husband and I had unprotected on 24th May, I was due af on 29th May and was experiencing period pains that week, by 5th June being 1 week late i decided to test with a cb test and got a really faint line, I was having really bad pains and was expecting af to come any moment. 6th June i bought a superdrug and got a extremely faint line also, so decided to wait a few more days to see if line gets any darker. I then bought first response test ( I test all tests at the same time every morning with first morning urine) I was so confused to see that the first response came up negative, on the 7th june FR also came up negative and so did a few cheapies from $ store. I started to think this was a chemical pregnancy, so unsettled i went and spent on another 4 tests, i bought another pack of clear blue and dipped again into my morning urine and dipped the other into a cup of water to compare ( i was getting carried away i know ) the water one came up so faint you had to squint to see it yet my urine test came up faint and plain to see in a matter of seconds. I decided to leave it yet again but kept dipping every morning with the cheapies that all came up negative. I rang my doctors clinic on the 9th of june who told me they no longer offer pregnancy tests and that you are to go by your own home pregnancy kit, I told her my dilemma and she then advised me to buy a cb digital to be more sure. So i spent yet again on a cb digi and came home and almost broke down when it came up NOT PREGNANT, decided enough was enough, I couldn't be preg as surely it would be showing my now? on the 10th (yest) i decided ONE LAST TIME and bought another set of cb non digi and a pack of cheapies as I wanted to use to same test so I have something to compare my earlier tests to, again the line has came up faint yet stronger than tests earlier in the week , the cheapies also came up so FAINT BUT VERY VERY FAINT and I am at wits end as to what to do, I would also like to add a very important note that my urine is always very very diluted, even first thing in morning and after not drinking, it has been like that my whole life, it was first pointed out to me when I was pregnant with my son, with him I was almost 5 wks pregnant before I had found out with a strong test result. If this was a chemical would it go on this long with test getting stronger and still no bleeding at all? Am i testing too soon if the only unprotected we had was on the 24th May? :wall2: for some reason when i try to get take a picture with my phone you can barely see the line but in person it is so much more obvious. I am 34 with 1 son aged 11, any thoughts would really be appreciated

Didn't want to read and run but not sure I can be too much help. I can clearly see the line on your test but I also know from my years on here that people get false positives with clear blue and blue days tests all the time as blue tests just seem rubbish. Digi tests for much higher quality of hcg so it might be too early to get a positive on that. Going by the test in the photo and your cheapies I would recommend getting a First Response Eary Results test (Superdrug do them and some supermarkets) but definitely get a pink dye test if you can't get a first response one.

If that is all inconclusive then I think you need to ask you GP to take blood to test for hcg and explain this thing with your dilute urine and that your tests aren't consistent. And they might even send you for an early scan to see if there is anything to see x

Blue tests suck but honestly I'd go to your gp and get a blood test, if you are preggo then the period pains are normal I've had them from 4 weeks to now lol

Fingers crossed you get the result you want x

I would wait a couple of days and test again with digital of first response test x

Hello there, I had a similar situation back in February. All pink dyes I took were negative but I was getting clear positives in those exact tests! The clear blue easy plus or something their called, but it was those tests! Every other test I took turned out to be a bfn and so after a few days I had to come to the conclusion that they were false positives or some kind of nasty evaps? I was heartbroken after trying for almost five years this was the only time id ever seen that second line, when I Googled it, it seems a lot of people have had this problem with these tests. Their horrible and should not be allowed on the market!

However, if you've had a vvvfl on other tests, then id say, wait it out a few days and try again with FRER and a digi. Good luck! I hope its the outcome you want! X

Hi ladies, thank you all so so much for taking time to reply, i am going to buy a set of first response tomorrow and test one last time to see if there is any change, I will also call my doctors clinic tomorrow and will explain everything to doc to see what she thinks, it is so frustrating and upsetting just not knowing what is happening, still no sign of AF, I am now 2 weeks late, I will keep you updated what happens and praying for a miracle for a little line to pop up a lot darker tomorrow <3

Just an update, decided to buy one last set of pink dye tests from super drug before putting on an appointment with my doctor to see if the line has gotten any darker or more fainter, so frustrated to take it this afternoon to see yet another faint line but very clear to see, my husband saw it instantly !!! I then decided to read the leaflet enclosed and read a part where it quotes ... ' Beside pregnancy, some illnesses may lead to increased of hcg in urine, which may be detected by the test ' then it went on to say ( and this is the part that put me into a panic ) was .. ' Menopausal urine may similarly cause false positives ' when i went onto google this, it quotes online the following ...

If you fall into the perimenopausal age range, your other hormone levels may change along with that of your hCG. FSH, or follicle-stimulating hormone, also increases with age. Unexpectedly high levels of both may indicate menopause versus pregnancy. In addition, hCG levels increase significantly during the first few weeks of pregnancy, and according to APA tend to double every few days. If your hCG levels remain steady, you are likely not pregnant but heading toward menopause. If you are uncertain whether your missed period is the result of pregnancy or menopause, don’t put all of your hopes on a pregnancy test: the result may not be what it appears.

I have been suffering hot flashes on and off for the past 2 years, I was convinced last year that I was suffering from early menopause and had the doctors test me for this and I was told the results were normal, I have been suffering with alot of hot flashes and sudden bursts of sweats for the past 2 weeks and no period. I am probably just a bit panicked and over reacting. My husband reckons we should wait another week at least and retest as he feels we have been testing far too early as I was 5 preg weeks before I got a strong line with our son, right now I am 3 wks since unprotected. still no sign of AF. I feel really awkward as to how to explain myself to doctor, or she will tell me to wait a few wks and come back, the receptionist has confirmed with me twice now that they do not offer blood tests anymore for pregnancies and I just don't want to be going in looking stupid. I think i am gonna try to wait another week and see what happens, if nothing changes by then , I guess it is something other than pregnancy that is going on with me :(

I'm very surprised to hear that a receptionist says that they don't do blood tests for pregnancies? I'd personally book in with your GP anyway, as it's their choice whether to send you for a blood test or not, they can request whatever bloods/tests/scans etc that they like. You can refuse to give details to your receptionist about what you are booking your appt for, so if I were you I'd get an appt and see what the GP says. Fingers crossed for you! X
