Can someone please explain what way i should be paid? I got my first payment in but i think it may be wrong. Want to be sure first before i bring it up incase im wrong... id feel embarressed lol xx

Depends on your circumstances really, your employer should be able to confirm what amount you will receive as it will paid to you via your normal payroll. I'd ask them first and see what they say, don't forget that things like pension contributions will still come out unless you ask for them to be stopped.

Why do you think it's wrong? First six weeks of mat leave is paid at 90% of your average earnings as earned in your eight week qualifying period between weeks 17 and 25 of pregnancy if that helps....

Im pretty sure iv been paid less than 90%. I dont pay into any pension either. Am i right when i say for the first 6 weeks its 90% of wage then after its 90% of your wage or £139 whichever is lower? Xx

Most employers won't pay for the first 3 days, so you'd only get SMP from day 4 onwards if that's the case.

Yes but it is also subject to tax and NI so those deductions still are made. And it is 90% of your average weekly earning s between weeks 17 and 25 of pregnancy which they use to calculate the number to base the 90% on so if you were for example, receiving sick pay at all in that time or had a period of unpaid leave that would affect it. Or in reverse, If you had a pay rise since week 25, that wouldn't be reflected in your SMP if it wasn't in effect during that time xxx

Ohh. Ok thanks for your help. I think il ask him anyway just to explain it so i know where i am lol :) xx
