Since i found out i was pregnant i had cut down for a week from 20 to 10. for the last 3 days though i have given up compleatly. i am more than gagging for one but if i can do it any one can :)

I have been smoking for 11 years and have tryed so many times to stop but i am one of those people who actually enjoy it. they say after a few days you shouldnt crave it any more but i do lol

I am finding other things to do. Like playing games. eating little and often helps as well as it gives my hands something to do :)

WELL DONE. Im proud of you and I dont even know you lol. Thats such a big thing and its amazing youve been able to not have one. XX

I gave up years ago, but if I walk past a freshly lit cigarette, I just want to start again lol
The urge goes as quickly as it comes though. I still have the odd dream that I am smoking too.
Well done to you! It does get easier and is well worth it.

WELL DONE :) I've given up too for the first time in 17 years and it wasnt easy :) everytime u want one just think of bubba! I found my cravings decreased after a week, but they still smell nice now and I'm 20 weeks!

Keep up the good work, well done xxx

That's great news!

I loved smoking but quit within 2 days of my BFP - it was hard but my morning sickness helped me keep the fags at bay! lol!

The benefits of quitting to both you and baby are incredible! I've still quit now nearly 18 months on and I feel great for it. I still get cravings every so often but all I have to do is look at my little girl and they soon go away x

I gave up about 14 months ago. Recently, I LOVE the smell of a lit ciggie. I wouldn't start smoking again now just love the smell of them!!
Congratulations on quitting. It does get easier and the cravings will soon disappear. x

Your all going to judge me, but I'm still trying to stop smoking, I've cut down loads now and can have days were I don't have one at all but It's just that big step to stopping fullstop that I can't seem to do :( Well done for stopping smoking, as a smoker I am very proud of you :) x

Quitting is hard, I used to have the odd one after being a full time smoker but I haven't had any for a while and won't be now, nicotine lozengers are my best friends lol. Great that you are cutting down tho, you'll get there hun x

That's awesome!! Well done you!! I'll not pretend that I know how hard it is because I'm not a smoker, however my OH has just given up 3 days ago and I've to deal with the moodiness haha

It's great that you have posted this and shared how you're keeping yourself occupied. Again, well done & keep it up x

Well done! I have been packed in just over a year now and i smoked sometimes 40 a day... i thought i'd never be able to do it but i did :D Best thing i ever done. Keep at it! xxx

oh well done! stick at it, you are nearly at the end. when i gave up smoking i used to compare it contractions.. i always felt like the cravings came in waves, It would start off little then reach a peek and die down again. like having a contraction. probably sounds daft but that how i managed to get through it and give up. After four days it got easier and easier until they totally faded away.

Hey don't fret I have found out on here that people really don't judge you. I have been struggling myself trying to stop and no it isnt easy but at least you're trying surely thats better than just smoking as many and when you want regardless. I have totally cut down and like you can go for days without one then sometimes have one. Silly really...have been using the lozenges which are pretty good.

Keep it up xx

well done for stopping. It's always horrible to see a pregnant woman smoking, or a pregnant woman pushing a pram with a fag in hand. I must admit, I find it easier not to judge in these forums because you know people are wanting to stop, than when I see it on the street. But at the same time, no more excuses, if you put your mind to it I'm sure you can do it. yes it's hard, but it's for a greater good.

It must be really hard, something I can't understand as a non-smoker, but I liken it to trying to give up chocolate!

What she said

No one will judge you on here hun, they're a lovely lot and the smokers / ex-smokers especially will understand. I'm also one of those ex-smokers who really, REALLY enjoys every part of it, and although I have quit this time I'm fully aware that I probably will smoke again once Ive had the baby. Some people are just smokers, I guess. Everyone is different, and your life choices are your business- no one has the right to make you feel guilty. Chin up, and if you can quit, great, but if you can't, don't beat yourself up about it. xxx

i know exactly what you mean.i gave up the minute i got my BFP, and it was hard but it does get easier. My Husband still smokes and when he has had one the smell knocks me sick... however after dinner i still crave one!! Not as much, but i do....
I just keep saying do i want a cigarette or the baby..!! It works for me..

stick with it.... it is hard, but so much better in the end.. xxx

well done hun! I wont say i knw how hard it is, cos i have never smoked! but i take my hat off to you for sticking with it

i'm in the same boat as you.. finding it really hard to totally give up. especially as i haven't really had any morning sickness. think it should be easier when the heartburn kicks in lol
At least you are trying.. it's better than nothing hun

that's so nice of you. and you made a good decision since smoking can really affect your baby's health. it's bad for your health too. nice job!

i used to smoke twenty a day at start when i hit 6-8 weeks i felt that sick that i just give up i went right of them so it might happen for u x

I have given up totally too, was really hard at the start (and still is a bit now) but i am so pleased i did it. I havent had a drag for 2 weeks now, and i have smoked for 14 years!! I am eating more, to compensate, but i hope that will ease off soon. You should be proud for what you are doing. When i crave, i just think of my bean :)
Keep going xx
