I've been following slimming World for a while and I intend on following as much as possible while pregnant.

I put on 5st in each of my previous pregnancies and I just don't want to do that again

I was looking for some SW buddies to help me along the way.

Please no judgement, its perfectly safe, I've done my research and made my decision already. If you disagree then please scroll past

Hi chase

I followed sw with DD and gained 2.5st.
I'll be following it again and am most definitely up for having a buddy as I don't go to groups anymore, I begrudge paying each week to see gains when pregnant.

It's such a good plan, it's not a diet and it's a lifestyle change. It is also recommended by the college of midwives as a good lifestyle to follow so I'm not sure why anybody should have a bad opinion of it. Xx

It's a great lan I agree but over the years in many mummy groups I've come across lots of judgement

Yeah, I'm not sure why. I'd question them if they have ever actually read the plan or done it because there is not one bad thing about it I don't think.

You get measured amounts of fibre and calcium, fruits and vegetables are free foods and it's highly encouraged that you fill up on these first and make at least one third of your plate full with them so if anybody judges I'd really wonder if they know anything about it at all.

Where shall we support each other? In this thread?
Do you want to write down food etc that we're eating?

Are you getting started straight away?
I keep saying every night tomorrow I'll be fully on it but I've already gorged on some chocolate today!

I'm on holiday right now so. O, back to group on Thursday so probably start Friday! I've put on about a stone in a week.. Dreading the scales!

I've been trying to follow it but also been giving in a little... trying to do a mixture of slimming world and just healthy eating. I really fancied avocado on toast with poached egg over the weekend so I had that as breakfast - far better than what I was eating when I was pregnant with my son, but I know not slimming world.

I'd like to only gain the recommended amount this time around - but I also don't want to become too obsessed with it.

My mum did comment today that she thought I might have lost some weight as we're going on a cruise in a few weeks and that I had gained a little, but I don't want to try and lose weight while pregnant and also the gain was from before I got pregnant, I've just maintained my weight since getting pregnant (which I don't think is bad going to be honest)

Today has been pretty much slimming world though - shreddies with skimmed milk for breakfast, fruit and chopped veg for snacks, slimming world spag bol for lunch, salmon with potatoes, veg and some lighter than light mayo for tea and I had a single time out earlier. Will no doubt have something else later on mind - will just try to make sure it's nothing too big.

We're having a buffet at work this week too, but I'm bringing fruit so hopefully I will stay strong and avoid all the naughty food and focus on fruit and salad.

I'm the same Donna. I think SW will help me make better choices more of the time than living on white bread and cheese like I did my first 2 pregnancies

Tbh I could do with losing a bit of weight and it won't do me any harm to do so while pregnant as I am overweight still and I've gained a lot on holiday. I'd like to shift a few lbs before my booking Appt as I'm worried the mw will give me a row!

Yeah I'm classed as overweight; but my midwife said not to worry about it as I don't look overweight... If I lost weight I wouldn't complain; but I'd rather maintain my weight for a while rather than lose it.
After the cruise I'd be happy if I lost a bit; or again maintained it until later in my pregnancy.

I know I'm not being as bad as last time which is one thing (crisps for breakfast; loads of snacks and pizza for supper most nights)

I'm with you chase, I'm overweight and gained half a stone on holiday and conceived at the same time. What will be will be now I will follow sw as I love the plan and worry about getting back down to my optimum weight once baby is here. Just enjoy the rest of your holiday :)

Sw will defo help us make better choices. I'm going to start writing it all down too, that helps a lot.
I love that we get 2 healthy extra As and Bs too whilst pregnant.

Donna your day yesterday sounds good. Did you have anything else?

Here is my plan for today:

Scrambled egg on toast, low fat soft cheese and syns for ketchup
Salmon salad, melon
Home made bolognese
Popcorn & alpen light for evening snack

Good plan for today :)

I had some prunes as I've been constipated.

Today I've already had a donut as they were handing them out at work aghh

But the rest not the day I had porridge, fruit as snacks, going to have chilli and jacket for lunch and either Thai curry or BBQ chicken pastab (both home made) for tea. I will eat fruit and veg for snacks and try not to have anything else off plan and then the donut isn't too bad.

Do you get the extra hea and heb straight away?

You certainly do chase.

Your day sounds good Donna.
Dont beat yourself up too much over the doughnut. Just fill up on the speeds and hopefully it'll stop the synful foods.

I had 2 bags of toffee popcorn earlier for 9 syns, I just needed something sweet so tonight I'll just have something small for dessert.

^^Well I ended up not eating my lunch, not deliberately I just wasn't hungry so all I've eaten the rest of the day is fruit and veg.

Yeah I'm not beating myself up - it can be my syns for the day and I'll have some hifi bars if I fancy something else sweet later, although I'm going off sweet food a bit. I don't hate it, I just don't enjoy it as much as I used to.

I do have a wispa gold in the fridge though and if I don't eat it soon my husband will haha.

Well then I'd definitely eat that soon!

Oh I'm the opposite I'm craving anything sweet at the moment, chocolate, popcorn, yogurts, melon, Apple. Last time I craved potatoes. I'd wake up and have them cooked as chips or wedges for breakfast lol at least they were syn free!

It’s a good ‘diet’ to follow, fresh veggies, fruit, lean meats, it’s a no brainier really.
I’ll join this thread :-)

Hows everyone's days been?

I didn't eat anything else after tea, just haven't been hungry for anything - could probably eat now but it's too late. I'll just leave it for today.

Tomorrow will be hard as we're having a buffet at work. Although I am teaching all day so I can only eat during breaks and won't be left in the office with all the food at any point haha. I'm taking fruit as an attempt at being good.

Welcome Frankenstein.

My day was too bad. I picked a little but come the end of the day I'm craving all the sugar so I'm trying my hardest to combat that today.

Today's plan is:

B- sw waffle, fruit & yogurt
L - salad (not sure what to have with it yet)
D - campfire stew
S - melon, Apple, grapes

I'm going to try and save my syns for tonight when I just want to pick

Oh Donna a buffet! My favourite. Hopefully they'll be some yummy stuff you can eat xx

I plan on having an on plan ish day. We didn't get home till 5am, the kids slept on the journey so they are awake and I feel dead.

We have no food except a white loaf in the house so that's breakfast then ill go shopping when hubster wakes up and I have more tea in my system.

I need to start planning for my sickness, the o ly thi g that makes it easier is food. Cheese and crackers and cheese sandwiches were. My go to in both pregnancies. I don't think fruit is going to cut it, wonder if broghies will help as they are only 1 syn each

I have about 6 weeks I reckon before my morning sickness kicks in and I want to try and lose a bit of weight before then, and then I just want to survive
