Hiya..I've jus had really intense cramps/stabbing pains in my lower abdomen..was creased over in pain and couldn't get comfortable for about half an hour...Does anyone know what it could be?do you think its worth calling the doc?
:? xx

I get these sometimes - my midwife said that sharp pains were nerves, and dull aches were muscles. She said it is most likely trapped nerves. Today when stood up i got a really bad one and doubled over in pain, took a while to go.
Let me know if your doc says anything different .... Good luck xx

Ive had cramping pains really low down and i phoned my MW who said its just ligaments streching. It was really painful but went after a day. Ive not had it again yet (touch wood).

Yours might be something else tho so just give them a ring to be sure. They'll hopefully say its 'just' this or 'just' that (even tho its really painful)

good luck

It's more than likely 'growing' pains, (ligaments and muscles stretching), I had them for a few weeks, could also be a water infection as these are very common in pregnancy. Try driking plenty of water and laying down.

hope your feeling better soon

Oh dear poor you :(
I had this in my first trimester a couple of times, it came on really suddenly and really acute and I fell to the floor with the pain during one of them. It went just as suddenly as it started but then I'd get another 2 or three in the next 10 mins. I was really scared, but only had these episodes a few times and the doc said it was probably trapped wind! Felt VERY painful for something so trivial. Maybe thats what you have. If you are in any way concerned always call your GP its better to be safe and all that. Good luck hope it soon goes

Thankyou so much guys...Sounds like youv'e all been there and done that :)
Have had stretchy craps before it just seemed more intense this time...I did end up putting it down to trapped wind in the end :rotfl:

Slightly embarrassing seen as I worried the whole household!

Feeling much better this morning!
Hope your all well and happy.xx :D

It's important you get piece of mind, as worry is no good, so always best to ask, never mind about how it looks if you do :)

Glad you are feeling better today, and hope the cramps ease of for you, it's all about things finding room in there, I've had and still get them sometimes, I'm sure there's many good days to come for you xxsuzi23xx

Very best wishes

I'm experiencing a tightness over my lower abdomen, feels like I've bruised it, and sometimes I feel some stabbing pains. I haven't noticed any bleeding, so I'm assuming this is all to do with the ligaments stretching?

Hello OopsyDaisy, I would have to agree, your uterus is on the move, and getting bigger is natural, so things in there are finding more room. I hope it eases for you, and if unsure always ask here, peeps are so helpful, or conatact your MW or GP, very best wishes

Thanks for your help! It's great that we have this site to be able to share anything, it certainly eases a lot of worries!

I agree OopsyDaisy :) it's nice to feel others understand where you're coming from and what you're talking about, and it's more relaxed and quicker than having to book to see a MW or GP, best wishes
