Sleeping whilst hungry?

I'm BFing LO and sometimes she is asleep but still sucking away slowly (could be comfort sucking). So i slide my finger in her mouth and take her off the breast and put her to sleep. LO has never come off on her own. She does sleep well. Would she still be sleeping long hours if she she was hungry? thanks

I'd say not.. if i pulled Coop off the boob and he still wants it he'd root for it asleep or not. How long is LO going between feeds? It does sound like comfort sucking. If a newb is hungry they let you know! As long as LO is having wet/dirty nappies and is gaining weight i wouldn't worry

 

[Strangeness]

Tamzin still pushes her tongue around when she's asleep, I think it's a comfort thing. She never falls asleep at the breast anymore so I know she's full and she sleeps nearly 12 hours a night.
