How are all you bf mums getting on?

I'm 13 weeks in and still feeding a lot through the night my lo will go from 7-10.15 pm then 10.15 to around midnight then every 2 hours after

He's feeding well gaining weight but just cannot get a proper sleep out of him he can be fussing/feeding for well over an hour which means I'm up for hours because no sooner has he finished he's ready to start again

Any tips? Advice? I thought it was meant to get easier haha
Don't get me wrong I love feeding him and I'm dreading giving up but I'd also like sleep I can't manage on just 3-4 hours a day it's getting me down

I didn't know wether to swap one of the nighttime feeds for a formula one see if he goes abit longer?? Could it be my milk isn't filling him up? Or is it just normal?

I'm sorry to say this but my LO is 4m & still wakes for a feed several times a night!
I think it's much morecommon with bf babies. Hopefully it will get better for you sion x

:-( not nice hun. Ive managed 2.5h tonight. If anyone has the answer I'd love to hear it! I've got no milk left already, as LO will only shut up when feeding tonight, so ive had to resort to formula again :-(

It's amazing how long you can survive on no sleep.

Seriously, parenting a baby who sleeps through must be so easy! X

My little ones feeds sound identical to yours... He is almost 8 weeks old and the longest stretch of sleep I get during the night is the first one about 3-3.5 hrs then he feeds every 1.5 - 2 hrs for rest of night and also takes a long time to feed still.

Really hoping it soon gets easier and he starts to get quicker at feeding and go longer between feeds. He also feeds every 2 grain day so it feels constant!!

My LO started out with such a lovely routine of waking at 2 for a feed then going through to 7...that lasted a week!! Now he's up every 2-2 1/2 hours, pretty much like clockwork, and when he wakes for the last time between 5&6, that's it, he's up for the day then. I'm surviving on about 4-5 hours sleep at the mo, and catching the odd half an hour nap when he has a decent day nap. I think it would be so much easier if it were 5 hours straight, but it's hard coping with getting up, being awake for 45 mins then trying to get back down again.

I used to love my sleep :-( .....

My LO is 5 weeks btw. Anyone know how to get a ticker for how old baby is??

Ahh least I'm not alone then
I've tried to get him to nap today he had one at 10.40 for an hour and I'm pretty sure after this feed he's hunna havr another as he's incredibly whiney
Fingers crossed anyway as I want this nap too I'm knackered

Been feeding my little one for nearly 2 hours laying in bed trying to get him to nap... He's having none of it, just feeding away wide awake! Wish he would nap in the day like most babies. He is awake all day from 9am-10pm! (Unless he goes in the car)

How old are your non napping babies! Mine sleeps pretty much all day give or take an hour and waking for feeds! She is only 3 weeks old though x

Pregnot think our LOs are only a day or two apart I think and Henry is exactly the same apart from he won't go to bed till 11 at the earliest so not only am I getting no sleep, I'm not having much of an evening either. So fed up with it. Sorry I can't be more help but just wanted to say, I totally feel your pain :-(

My little one is 7 weeks but apart from the first week or two he has never been a day time napper. He will only ever fall asleep in daytime if we've been in car or occasionally he will have 10-15mins at the end of the feed but wake as soon as I try putting him down. Gave up trying to get him to nap after 2 hrs... He has basically been feeding non stop since 2pm. Just had to put him in his swing as I need a break but he is already winging for more! Definitely hoping this growth spurt soon finishes and hoping he will soon start to go longer between feeds and give me more sleep at night!

X

My non napper is 3 months exactly tomorrow

Aww yea beesmall its a killer isn't it - especially as yours not going down until 11 I am seriously wondering how wean age to function
Its crazy some days I feel like the walking dead I'm tidying my house now as hes in bed I should be asleep too but house is untidy and oh is busy working upstairs
Its a proper full time job being a mum haha

My LO slept pretty much all day except for feeding up until this week, which is week 5 :-(

just to try and give a bit of hope (not bragging or trying to upset anyone) my lo sleeps thru from 11 to 7 most nights now, has been for about a week and a half. shes 13 weeks now and totaly ebf

Those of you who are struggling with frequent feeds, have you tried co-sleeping?? You can just latch baby on barely waking.

We've had a bad couple of weeks between my two, so I'm not been attempting to start Ayla off in the cot tonight!!

Spin sugar, remember Hun, your boobs are never truly empty.

Hope everyone has a better nights sleep tonight. X

I knoe they do continually produce but I have to limit her time on as bf is still often uncomfortable for me so if I let her stay on for over an hour it can make feeding painful. This is one reason why I can't get on with co sleeping. For me it's the lack of settling after! Xxx

We are co-sleeping as little one is much more settled after feeds this way. He starts in basket for the longest stretch of sleep (managed 3.5hrs tonight!!!) then usually in with me the rest of the night. The problem I have is getting back to sleep in between feeds... He is happily snoring and even though I know it will probably be 2hrs max until he wakes again I'm wide awake clock watching for the next feed!

I let him sleep in his Moses until the 4 am not as after that it's every hour pretty much so I do put him next to me
Ahhh well hope he sleeps soon :)

I'm the same. He does first 2 sleeps in Moses basket then in with me. I'm really fed up with the lack of sleep, last night was horrendous :-(
