Hello ladies,

Does anyone have any recommendations on good skin-care products during pregnancy ( face cream, deodorants, body lotions, shampoo etc. ), preferably that you can buy in boots? I think you can probably use most lotions and makeup but is there a specific brand that is less harsh on your skin?

thanks :)

Raw organic coconut oil, u can get it from a lot of places now.. Tesco sell it for about £5, you can use it in cooking as well so you might have to ask where it is x

Thanks. I actually used one ages ago from Holland & Barrett called "Holland & Barrett Perfectly Pure Coconut Oil" which I assume is the same?

thanks :)

Yes i woulda thought so :) they're good for natural products but not sure if they'll be more expensive xx

TBH I wouldn't use any you can find in Boots. I use Toms deodorant, and Faith In Nature or Lavera toiletries (soap, shampoo, make up etc).

I use Lush's Dream Cream as hand lotion and body moisturiser :)

thanks! I will walk past Holland and Barrett on the way home since I think all their stuff is natural right? :) Have a store just around the corner from my house!

I don't think all of their stuff it, check the labels first or ask a member of staff :)

Thanks ladies, what about makeup? What brands/stores are good? x

If you don't mind pushing the boat out MAC make up is good (can order online if you don't have a store) I'm just sticking to my usual make up. I'm using vaseline coco cream for my moisturiser as very dry skin and cussons mum and bump cream to stop me itching as my tummy and legs have become very itchy!xx

Goodness, I'm just using all my usual products (with the exception of my salicylic acid face toner) and it hadn't even occurred to me that I'd need to change anything. I might start with the Bio-oil soon as I already have millions of stretch marks from when I put on weight as a teenager and will try anything that might minimise the number I get this time.

Bio oil has never worked for, my mum's bought me some Palmers stretch mark cream (gonna give it a go soon) I'm still using same deodorant and body wash. Just adding more stuff to my skin care as my skin has become very dry whilst been pregnant xx

Hubby is a chemist and won't let me use bio-oil, although it says it is safe to use when pregnant it contains an ingrediant which he isn't happy for me to use!
Is the cussons mum and bump cream helping with the itching andreatav? I'm getting awfully itchy legs! xx
