I'm having a homebirth (hopefully) so bought a bucket for the placenta but where does it go after that? I definitely don't want to keep it, will the midwife take it or will I have to get rid and if I do can it just go straight in the bin? Sorry for the daft question but I'm very new to this homebirthing xx

My friend had a home birth and they took it away with them and all the clinical waste so she didn't have to worry about any of it!

Thank you felt so silly asking but just had to ask x

That's ok hun - I only know as me and my friend were talking placentas only yesterday! X

I had an unplanned homebirth and they will just take it away hun. they had to check the placenta when I gave birth to Joshua. They check to make sure there are the correct amount of vessels and veins I think it was. Good luck

x
