Well as you know I have been suffering badly from flu and I finally got to see a doctor today - both doctors I'd had telephone consultations with said it definitely sounded like flu - and this one did a few checks and said I do have a viral infection of some kind. But she's got into her head that the shooting pains I've been having are SPD!! I just can't see how she can make them completely unrelated to the flu when they came on the exact same day - I am sure they are just severe muscle pains associated with flu. As soon as I said I had pain in my hips she immediately started talking about SPD - but the pain is all down my legs, including my thighs , calves, knees, ankles and even in my elbows!! It seems crazy to me to treat that symptom totally separate from all my other symptoms! She told me to go and look it up online and I have and I just don't think that is my problem.
I'm sure when this flu is out of my system the pains will go, they are already a little better today. I've read that SPD can be hard for doctors to diagnose but in my case I think she's really jumped the gun! xx
