Does anyone know what these would be?

I'm so scared just now!! I've been having sore tightenings for a few weeks now, nothing too regular, until about an hour ago. It's worse than a really bad period, I can't talk through them...I wouldn't consider myself to have a low pain threshold either so I'm crtain they are quite sore..

They are about every 5 minutes, last 1 minute or so each time...

What if I'm going into labour? I'm at work just now, I can feel baby kicking away like mad down low so maybe it's just stretching, but they are regular now..

I'm so so worried! I can't ring my midwife till I get home...I don't know what to do, if I get one when I'm on the phone i have to really struggle to keep talking...

The pains are accompanied bya constant period pain in my lower back..baby is going nuts in there!

Ring your midwife or hospital. Work will understand xx

I would definitely give your midwife a ring even if that means leaving work ill. I'm sorry I can't help more - I haven't experienced any pains like that so far. Big hugs xxxx

oh hon that sounds pretty terrifying, I am sure it is nothing, probably just stretching but with any severe pain you should defo always go to your MW or hospital straight away, if only to put your mind at ease, and they might be able to offer you something for the pain.
I am sure your work will understand and if they dont then tough for them as I would still put your health and your babies health before them anyway!
Hope everything turns out to be ok x

I agree hunny I would definetly call your midwife or hospital, even if they are BH accompanied by stretching pains its best to get checked out. Keep us posted how your getting on x x

Called Midwife...

She says it doesnt sound like proper contractions because they're not radiating from the top of my bump downwards?! I think she thought I was having a laugh...I've to keep timing them, and if they dont stop soon or anything else happens I've to leave work and go to the nearest hospital... I dont have a car, and OH is an hour and a half awway...just parying everythings ok...

well thats good news if she doesnt think they are labour pains, but a bit off that she thought you were having a laugh, you are clearly worried so she should have taken that worry seriously, I mean any pain when your pregnant is absolutely terrifying and especially one so bad it stops you speaking!

keep an eye on them hon and if they dont stop see if you can get a work colleague to drive you, or is there a bus you can catch, or a taxi? hopefully they will start to calm down soon as mummy2adam says it might just be BH, with maybe stretching or trapped wind (which can be excrutiating and can come on in waves?) fx for you hon

hope everything is ok hun... but it's good that you got in touch with a mw! Shame that your OH is so far away..

They're still happening and it's enough to take my breath away...they start in my lower back and sort of spread round to the front and my bump goes hard and sore.. i serisouly hope its just braxtons...I know if bubs was born now there wouldn't be anything they coulod do :( x

Hope they calm down for you hunny. Is there anyway you could leave work and rest or go somewhere to lay down to see if they ease? x x

Work is pretty slow today anyway, phone hasn't gone for a while and all the invoices and admin was done this morning xx I'm just sitting here trying to breathe and browse the forum to make my mind off it! It's just very scary! x

Hun I know it will be a mission but can you not get youself to your local hospital for a trace on the ctg, at least to put your mind at rest? And some hospitals will help a baby pre-24 weeks, it's down to each hospitals policy if they help because 24 weeks is recommendation only so might be worth finding out about the hospitals in your area xxxxxxxx hope everything is ok for you and your LO xxxxxxxx

If it were me hun i would go to the hospital to get checked just to be safe. its difficult to make an over the phone diagnosis. ask a work member to take you or call a cab. xxxx

I've called OH, and he's ready just to leave wrk if he has to x

Oh how scary chick :( I had my 1st baby at 25+5. The 1st think I remember was the pain and pressure between my legs :( I hope all is ok for you chick and if it helps my boy is now 4 and a picture of health. Xxxxxxxxx

Oh hon that sounds pretty scary I would get to hospital if I was you to be on the safe side x x

When I went into pre term labour I didn't have any signs, please keep a eye on them and if your still worried I would just up and leave to go to the hospital, as I know when I started getting contraction it happened very quickly and brooke was born 5 and 1/2 hours later, which is very quick from start to finish! Plus if you get checked out least you will know for sure , and I'm sure if it was labour they might be able to hold it off if they caught it early enough!

Hope they settle down soon xxx

hope your pains ease off soon. Get yourself straight to the hospital if they dont, I'm sure someone will take you if you need to. Thinking of you xx
