Hey jo... Twins eh.. how lovely...
firstly
I don't think you'll get bloods done on your first visit to EPU as it's normally just a reassurance scan after your loss last time.... should test urine though....and one of the signs for multiples is Protein in your urine (not infection)....also your sickness symptoms are normally a lot stronger.... But they will be able to tell you for sure at your 8-9 week scan...... they might be able to tell you at this one if you have two sacs & yokes.... But also remember that as high as 1 in 8 pregnancies ALL start as twins..but most don't continue as twins..... many ladies go on to have a healthy baby and the other is absorbed back into mummy's body...sounds horrible but most people never ever know it has happened..

I lost a twin(17 years ago now) but it was further on... i was 14-16 weeks... BUT I did go on to have a very healthy boy.....7lbs 10 oz...full term.... My twin was too far developed to be absorbed back  ..so had to have it removed after the birth of my son.... I still feel very very lucky to have had my son...

Sorry Jo... you know me.. TMI as usual.......

Good luck with the scan... No matter how many are there.... enjoy ! !

Happy chick I can see the lines on the first 2 tests now!! I apologise for that, I can see the computer screen better now the sun has gone away. :wall: :D :D

Jo, I've just seen your BFPs!!!! Congratulations

There could be reasons - other than twins - why you're noticing more "symptoms" this time around: after my cousin's m/c (she conceived about 2 months later), she found that her next pregnancy seemed to produce more symptoms even though she was only carrying one baby and she reckoned it was a good sign and was because:

a) it meant she had more pregnancy hormones this time around (and so would sustain the pregnancy), and
b) she realised that as she'd just had a loss, she was hyper-aware of every little thing with her new pregnancy.

Whatever the reason for your symptoms and whether there's one baby in there or 5 :D , I just wanted to say how delighted I am for you. You're a wonderful person and you deserve wonderful things to happen.

I'm really rooting for you, Jo. I'm almost as happy seeing your BFP as I was at seeing my own

Love,
Wendy

Thank you so much Wendy that really means alot to me, just had tears in my eyes reading it!

Its funny because I can now see how my HCG levels did not rise this quickly last time and think it could possibly been an early indicator but obviously i didnt know at the time.

The extreme symptoms are good as every single time i feel sick (which is most of the time) I smile and remember what ive got growing inside me! :)

Thanks to everyone else too for your well wishes, you will never know how much your words truely mean to me.

P.S. Jo, now summer is here and we've been having such beautiful weather, it seems like everyone is off out, enjoying themselves -except me. I am so glad that my "fellow raver" is pregnant with me and won't be "living it up" all summer with the rest of 'em, whilst I sit in with my growing bump :D

Seriously, I'm so glad you're back in this section of the forum and it's comforting to know that we're going through it together again. And yes, the more sick and moody you feel, the more hormones raging around in there so even when it's bad, it's good :D .

Also, another thing I read years ago with my first pregnancy - sleep on your left side, preferably with a pillow between your knees. Seemingly, sleeping on your left creates more blood flow to the uterus early on and, later, encourages the baby to adopt the best position for birth. Has worked for me twice so far, so I'm going to keep on doing it!
