Hi,
I have had this week off, i went for an early scan and they said they'd give me a sick note because i have a water infection and having dizzy spells. She said i could have 2 weeks but only asked for one, but she said if i needed the other week, just to visit my GP and they'll be able to sort one out for me.
I have an appointment with my GP tonight, but they don't like giving out sick notes, ive never had one before this. Im still feeling quite rough, i went for another scan yesterday due to a bleed but was fine.
Ive already told my boss that I have the next week off and ill get the note asap for him. Now im worrying so much that im not going to get one its making feel sick!
I work in subway, most the time by myself this is the main reason i need the second week off, im constantly in and out of the freezer and fridge at work, what if i have a dizzy spell and pass out in there? and I dont get to sit down on 8 hour shifts etc because again im by myself and there is constantly customers to serve. Before i had this week off i was having server back pain, but since ive not been working its been fine, i think its because of all the standing i do that causes it.
It has crossed my mind just to leave, but I like working...
Any advise?

Your gp will give one no bother
Especially as they have evidence youre ill and pregnant
Try not to worry
Your work should do a to do a risk assessment since youre pregnant though and look at adapting your activities etc if youre struggling. Because it will only become harder on you xx

Please read over your sickness policy at work as well - I work for NHS and although pregnancy illness is not exempt, if we are off relating to a pregnancy illness then it is not actionable against us, ie we cannot be penilised and punished for having that absence (it is essentially just noted but not actioned) therefore.

Dont know if thats just the same for the NHS but according to CAB and Human rights its the same across the board. Double check with your work what they require. (read the policy for yourself) if they require a sick note, GP shouldnt be too bothered about giving you it if you genuinely arent fit for work!

I think it's across the board for pregnancy related illness.you cant have it held against you x
