Just wondering what you lovely ladies did to prepare your older children for their baby siblings arrival (age permitting) or plan to do?

Our DD will be 3 when baby comes along and would love her to make/ decorate something for baby to give to baby, and I’m going to get a present from baby to DD too, just wondering if I could have some inspiration.

Thanks <3

Heya. My son was 5 when we had my daughter. We just took him baby shopping with us and he picked an outfit for the her. Then we got him a card and a gift from us and the baby when she arrived. My daughter is now 4 and im 13ish weeks so will do the same nearer the time xx

Mine will be 6 and 4.5 when number 3 arrives. 6byear old is disabled and non verbal so I'm not sure how much he will understand, but he loves babies. 4.5 year old has been asking for a baby sister for about 6 months and keeps talking about the baby that is coming to live with us (we haven't told him yet... He's well creepy :rotfl:)

I think we will go shopping and let them pick something and also because I'll be doing a lot of handmade stuff I'll let them pick favric/pattern to make an outfit for baby

My daughter was 4 when my 2nd arrived. We did what you did and had her make the baby a paint and clay money box, then gave her a present from her sister at the hospital. Before that, I took her to a private scan to see the baby, let her feel the baby when she wanted, and let her buy baby stuff. She asked a lot of questions.

She wanted to be involved in everything, even folding up bibs, clothes, and building cribs etc. So I let her do anything she wanted, even when I ended up with balls of clothes in drawers lol. I tried to explain how the baby would need me and how it would be when she arrived to prepare her. But she still struggled losing us so to speak. A month in and it's pretty much all good though
