Hi Ladies...

Just after some opinions on whether or not you think I should pay a visit to the doctors because of my irregular cycles that seem to get longer every month or for the time being because I only came off my pill 6/7months ago should I continue to monitor my cycles for a further 3 or 4 months first to see if they settle?

Basically since coming off my pill in January I have had 2 x 28 day cycles (where stupidly I thought brilliant things are back to normal already!) then 1 x 34 day cycle & then more recently a 40 day cycle.... surely thats not normal? :(

whats it best for me to do?

I dont see the harm in visiting the dr hun to put ur mind at rest (it will also mean it will be on ur file that ur ttc)

my first 2 cycles after coming off the pill were normal too then went haywire!! theyv been irregular ever since (thats not to say urs wont sort themselves out tho hun everyones different)..a specialist had to put me on clomid for mine.

might be a god idea to get the ball rolling as referrals for tests can take a few months at a time....march i saw my gp and i only saw specialist 2 weeks ago

Thanks hun, thats really useful to know! My partner said maybe its still a case of the pill messing with my cycles and not yet settled but I thought after 6 - 7 months that it wouldnt affect me so much anymore... its reassuring just to know that a similar thing has happened to other people. I think I will go and see my gp next week and see what they say. My best friend is a trainee gp and she said ask them to take bloods so they can monitor how much of each hormone is in my body at the various points within my cycle to check all is well but when she mentioned it at the time I thought is it not too soon to do that? will they look at me and think its only been 6 months? and tell me to come back again in another 6 months.... But I guess I need to remember the reason I am going is because of my irregular and long cycles not because i'm not yet pregnant.. if anything I guess it will good to put my mind at rest and go and have a chat about it anyway..

Thanks again xxx

its worth going....because by all means tell them ur ttc but then ay ur MORE concened because ur cycles are changing and becoming irregular whoch will no doubt affect ttc as u wont know when ur oving.

good luck hun xxx
