Should I be worried? (TMI photo)

I’m currently 19 weeks pregnant and I had sex last night. This morning I’ve had a thick brown discharge but I didn’t worry as I know this can be normal. I’ve just wiped myself after going to the toilet and there was bright red blood along with a tiny blood clot and a piece of tissue. Should I be worried or is this still normal? I’m not in any pain but I haven’t felt the baby move as of yet today (only been feeling proper movements for about a week) I can’t get hold of my midwife as she works on an answer phone only system so it could be hours before she returns my call. I’ve attached a photo, it’s only tiny, hence the ring for scale.

I would phone your local maternity unit and get an instant answer instead of waiting for someone to reply to an answering machine message

I agree with Akua honey...best to get these things checked ASAP. Hope everything goes OK xxx

Definitely get it checked out straight away. I always say it’s better to be safe and midwives really don’t mind helping with concerns. I hope all is okay. <3

Rang the maternity unit. I was told to drink cold water and lay down to see if I could feel the baby move and to go to the hospital after 5pm if I hadn’t felt anything or if the bleeding got worse. Felt the baby start moving just before 5pm and the bleeding stopped. My midwife returned my call just after 5pm and said that unless the bleeding continues, she’s not concerned as I has my 20 week scan on Tuesday anyway.

Glad to hear that it all seems to be ok. Let us know how your scan goes!
