So this morning when I wiped there is brown discharge but it is gloopy (sorry tmi)
It could be nothing but I’m 8 weeks and had a previous miscarriage so anything other than the norm sends my mind into overdrive
I don’t know if it’s ott to contact my midwife about something that could be all very normal. I’m not bleeding and no cramping but also conscious about it being the start of things

I’d say if you’re worried it’s worth getting it checked out :)

I had that at 12 weeks and was bad news hun. Not to scare you or anything but get that checked out as soon as you can.x

I called midwife and she didn’t seem to concerned as it is brown and not blood. She did say if it changes so if I start bleeding or get cramps to call them again and they’ll refer me to early pregnancy unit for a scan!
Haven’t had any more brown discharge since this morning, have had discharge but it’s not turned an orangy colour??!

Not to worry you but I also had this at 9 weeks. Its was like stringy and really dark brown. I was also told my everyone its brown so don't worry. I was given a scan the following day anyway and I was still told not to worry as brown blood is old. I had a miscarriage 4 days after the scan. So brown blood isnt always "good news" like most say. I'd definitely push to be checked out. It'll worry you otherwise.

Mine was light to dark brown with pinkish gloops, it wasn't like any normal discharge. I was feeling a bit feverish, like something was off but had no cramps. How are you feeling?x

I've had breakthrough bleeding in 3 of my 4 pregnancies, all around 8 weeks which is roughly when you would've been due another period. I have also had spotting that was on and off and had a mmc. It really is so hard to know what is happening, if it continues I would definitely see about getting a scan at your early pregnancy unit at the hospital, a gp can refer you if your midwife won't.

I’ve had some very light brown spotting with both of my pregnancies and it’s always been fine. The rule of thumb is that if it’s brown it’s old blood, especially reassuring if it’s not accompanied by cramping.
But...... every situation is different and you could try asking to be referred to EPAU for reassurance x

Thanks for all the responses ladies!
I haven’t had any more brown discharge since yesterday morning and no cramps/bleeding so I think all is fine fingers crossed!
I did speak to a midwife who said it’s pretty normal and especially at 8 week mark as it’s when my period would have been due. If anything changes I won’t hesitate to go get checked xx
