Hi ladies

Quite a few of us are at Serum now, so this is a dedicated thread for all of us having treatment there or thinking about using the clinic.

If you're not at Serum and want to ask any questions, please feel free to do so here. Lots of us have experience with them.

Katie

Thanks for starting the thread Katie. Perhaps those of us currently/about to cycle could update on where we are as well?

I'll start the ball rolling on that one.

Had my first consultation and hysto in July having done the infection testing the previous month and tested positive. Natural pregnancy end August but mc at 8 1/2 weeks.

Heading back over to Serum next weekend for a hysto and then a DE round in January which I'm really excited about.

Just wanted to pop on and say good luck ladies, you really deserve it. I've heard so many great tings about serum.

I've sent my sample away for infection testing. Does anyone know how long it takes?

We have 2 frozen embryos here so are unsure if to use those first or go straight to Serum. xx

It was there in a few days and the results a few days after that, so I think a week in all between sending and receiving results, good luck xx

My sample took 2 weeks to get to Serum, but apparently the sample is ok up to 3-4 weeks in transit, I thought it had got lost in the post. x

Thanks ladies. I've not heard anything yet so I assume it's still on its way xx

Phonix, have you thought about having a hysto or at least an aquascan at Serum and then trying your two Frosties, you could then go back to Serum if they don’t work?

I've had a hysto here and everything was ok, not sure if they'd see anything different? But I could have an aquascan. I get these results in 5 days.

For anyone thinking about trying Serum, I can recommend a site called Hifx as a way to transfer your money. It's really easy, you get good rates and there are no fees (my bank would have charged £4 if done online plus the rates wouldn't have been very good). xx

An awful lot of people on fertility friends say the hysto at Serum is much more thorough than any you get in the uk plus they give you implantation cuts which is supposed to help with implantation - the cuts are much deeper than the scratch and last longer. Still, it’s a lot of money and hassle if you’ve recently had one and I don’t know how true it really is about being more thorough as I haven’t had one in the UK.

I’m sat at Heathrow now waiting for my flight to Athens for my hysto, landed in from Hong Kong a couple of hours ago.

Thanks Syd. The hysto probably is better there.

I got my infection test results today. Everything was negative but they did say there was a higher level of bacteria present than there should be. This is present of some kind of infection, just not the ones tested... They don't recommend any action to be taken.

Ok well that's good, that all was negative. Although I get the need for some kind of answers. What treatment do you follow for high nk cells when having ivf/iui etc?
