***September 2016 Mummies***

No, it's a service available only in certain parts of the country where you're assigned your own midwife for continuity. She sees me at home and the scans are in a clinic rather than hosp and she will be my midwife if I opt for a home birth. If you google it the website probably explains it better than me x

That's interesting! I'm already in the system now but good to know about it. Thanks FP xx

whats the deal with spanx? i have a wedding to go to a week on saturday and i never feel confident unless ive got a pair of spanx on! i didnt have this problem last time, i was slim :(
i dont want to wear anything too baggy in case it raises questions and im worried my evening bloat might give it away!

a bit off topic too, but my mother in law has said that all the guests should wear either navy or dark red as thats the wedding party colours but surely not? would you want every single guest wearing the same colours? i'd want my wedding photos to be colourful! if everyone is in the same colours you're not going to know whos a bridesmaid/best man and whos not! xxx

I personally wouldn't wear spanks lots is going on down there and you wouldn't want to restrict it in anyway. what about a nice drop wasted dress?

If it doesn't specify on invite that you have to wear those colours id wear what you want! How are you going to get past the not drinking without raising suspicion, thats the one i always find so hard.

Surely not? Usually the wedding party might stick to those colours but not all the guests that would look really odd! Wear something flattering but maybe a bit loose around the tum x

Imo you avoid the colour that the wedding party are! lots of loose dresses that are very flattering with out Spanx and as you are more bloated as night goes on you may feel income table with them on. There are lots of short dresses that you can dress up and tunic style dresses in warehouse and oasis even that I have seen I'm sure if want to go dearer or cheaper than that you will find similar styles. X

Thanks hun, Yeah just crazy itching going on and a very attractive rash! I've had it before so know what to expect. It's not dangerous to baby but might tell midwife anyway x

I would definitely say it's weird to purposefully wear the wedding colours if you're not part of the wedding party? My bridesmaids were navy and my friend asked if I'd mind if she wore a navy dress too  (obviously I didn't mind!)

Regarding the dress - what about something with ruffled layers all the way down? Do you know what I mean? I have a really nice blue dress with spaghetti straps that's ruffly all the way down and it's v flattering, plus hides the gut when you've eaten too much!

This is it:

How weird wanting everyone to wear the wedding party colours!!!! I used to have a 'friend' (not really a friend!) who would always wear lacy long white/ivory dresses to weddings which I thought was totally out of order! Needless to say she wasn't invited to mine haha!!

I think it's nice to have lots of different colours at weddings :-) much nicer for photos.

I've got the not drinking issue at the moment. We literally haven't told anyone even my best friends, and a few of them want me to do a drink fuelled night out in a couple of weeks because I haven't been out since before Christmas. .. been making excuses the last two weeks but running put of reasons!!!
Xxx

Not long got back from first GP appointment at nearly 7 weeks (waited 3 weeks for it!) He made me get on the scales - who does that in January? and fully clothed?! Lol

He was really nice to be fair but now I have to wait to hear from a midwife 🕰👀

Getting cover for my class should be fun at whatever random time they decide to give me my first appointment!

Hope everyone is feeling ok. Morning sickness continues but I have discovered bagels and pasta today! First things that have tasted nice in days!!

Han x

After quite a salty lunch (noddles in chicken stock, keeping it simple) I felt a lot better. It's going down hill again now though lol. Actually keen to go to bed already :(

Thanks, I knew I wasn't going crazy about the wedding colours! Blue and red don't really suit me anyway. The ruffled dress is gorgeous, I'm defo going to have a good look around the shops in the next week or so.

I have a genius plan! I have a hip flask that I'm going to fill with 'malibu' (water) and buy soft drinks and then theatrically pour my 'alcohol' in. It's a really expensive place so everyone been talking about taking their own alcohol anyway.

Hope you're okay fp, my oh had shingles last year and he was NOT a good patient xxx
