dont worry hun it will stop i had this for nearly a year after i had hannah and then i went to see a locum doctor and she put me this big plaster thing over it which i had to heve changed every 3 days, it took about 2 weeks of having these on but it healed up great after that

SALT WATER BATHS TWICE A DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for shouting but I had a nasty infection in my scar and I refused to take antibiotics because I was breastfeeding and they made Logan so ill when I had them previously. I had a salt water bath twice a day ( Aldi sell 1kg of Salt for 25p and I used half a kilo per bath!) and within 3 days my infection had cleared! ( I am sure most other supermarkets will sell it at a similar price its just table salt)

Even now some days my scar will go a little red and I pop some salt in the bath and it sorts itself out.

Obviously take the Antiobiotics as well but this will really help.

(Don't use any other bubble bath when your doing this and run water over yourself when you get out - I used to stand under the shower for a few seconds because the water is very salty and will dry your skin...)

Oh an if you have the dreaded overhang  -I did - use a hairdryer on a cool setting to make sure your scar is really dry after bathing. Do this every time you wash and things should get better....personally I loved the feeling because it was soothing ( Maybe I shoudn't have admitted to that  :? )

Oh sweetie, its horrid- I had a really nasty infection a week after my secton, I felt DREADFUL and nearly passed out, the following day the wound was pouring gunk, we ended up in A&E where they said t was really nasty and wanted to keep me in. I begged to go home to my little girl, so they gave me a double dose of anti biotics, and all the following week I was so poorly, I felt so lousy and weepy. couldnt do anythng for Ruby as ould bearly get out of bed, I was so sore. I had a second course of them as it didnt clear, and this helped. Just above the wound I had a lump, which a week later burst open and a stich was popping out, it gradually worked its way out, and the doc had to cut it out

I felt mingy and smelly for weeks, but it soon calmed down. Much love to you, keep resting as muh as you can and make sure the midwives check it daily

Hope you are soon feeling brighter xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Rach, no advice unfortunately as I don't know the first thing about C-section. Just sending lots of hugs.

salt water bathing of the wound twice daily can help.
And also if you have any aloe vera gel that can really help the wound heal quickly.

cover it in aloe vera and leave for as long as poss.
can be bought in most healths shops just make sure its pure aloe vera.

If you want any more info pm me.

thanks everyone not pouring so much this morning but still feel crappy and tearful and finding it really hard to do anything at all for baby christopher :( have started antibiotics but they are only covering ones they said they could be wrong ones and they wont know till the swab results are back then they might have to change them fingers crossed these ones will be right xxxxxxxx

oh rach hun, i havent had a c section but just wanted to tell you i hope things clear up soon, i know its the last thing you want to do with a new baby because you want to hold him and hug him and do everything for him, but for the next fewdays rest up as much as you can, get as much help as you can and rest, do the salt baths and dont try to do too much, it needs to heal. hope it does soon though

aw Rach, I'm sorry to hear that your scar has become infected. I hope it heals very soon for you.

if poss try not to keep it covered too much air will also help it dry up and heal.

aaarw u poor thing, i hope it clears up for u
salt baths and airing the wound will help, antibiotics might take a while to kick in?

Antibitoics will 'kick in' within 24 hours.
Once they are in your system they start working - if there is no improvement with in a couple of days then they have not got the right antibiotics, and will need to change then to treat thedifferent bugs.
