Jake is 13 days old and has no trouble falling asleep on me during the day but as soon as I put him in his carrycot so I can get some jobs done he starts screaming and only stops when hes picked up again.
Any tips on how i can get him to sleep in his carrycot during the day? He has no problems sleeping in his crib at night.

Aw bless his heart and congrats on your new baby. He's just brand new hun, and needs lots of contact and cuddles. He doesn't even realise he's not inside you anymore. He just needs lots of contact, it is hard work and so draininig in those first couple of weeks, but defo make the most of it coz they're not newborn for long xxxxxxxx

He probably just want to be close to you. Eitherway keep carry him around, or get a sling so he can be close to u n u can still move about or leave him cry. I used to put Noa down, if he cried I gave him 5 min., went in n stroked him till he calmed down, left again n did this until he was asleep. I never lifted him up. He learned n .after a couple of weeks Noa went down no problem. Now he don't like me touching him atall when its time to sleep Xxx

You could try putting a hot water bottle in his carrycot so it is warm before you put him in there. Make sure to take the bottle out though!

If you find the answer , let me know  Caitlin is ten weeks now and still wont sleep in her crib during the day (fine at night) if you put her in it during the day she just wakes up and then doiesn't go back to sleep

He slept in his car seat today and on me but as soon as I put him in his carrycot he woke up and started screaming!
We've got a swing chair thing for him so will get that assembled tomorrow and hopefully he'll like that and that'll free me up to get some jobs done.

Maybe he doesn't like being on his back? My LO hated it until about 2 weeks ago, now he'll roll onto his back quite happily but before he would always be on side or front. We co-sleep though so he was always right there to keep an eye on, and we have a sensor mat for when he is in cot as he likes to go proper face down lol

I did wonder that Maria, but he sleeps really well in his crib at night. He sleeps for 3-4 hours between feeds at night on his back so I don't think it's that.
I've had a mini break through today, and although he has been awake and grumbling this morning, I put him in his carry cot awake and he's dropped off to sleep eventually so hopefully we've turned a corner.
OH was out for the past 3 days whilst I've been dealing with a screaming baby, and today he's behaving so now OH doesn't understand what I've been complaining about!

That's always the way roo lol, it's the same for me when I have a day of Oscar screaming soon as OH is home LO is all smiles lol

Glad he's a bit better today, they do like to keep us on our toes huh lol xxxx
