Having trouble with my back/left hip/leg, the past week and finding it super hard to walk on my left leg without a horrible pain throughout the 3.. Went to the doctors today and this is apparently what I have.. Feel crap, can't do what needs done for Odhrán.. We can't go anywhere, I'm not allowed to walk (not that I can really ) But I would push it to get Odhrán out for a bit of fresh air.. I can't lift him or it rips through me, I feel so bloody useless  My mum minds my nephew, so she can't take over (even take him out so he's not staring at the walls all day), and his daddy works 10 hour shifts 5 days a week, and is entitled to a rest at the end of it.. I can hardly do anything with him  I'm needing to be sat down and have him handed to me, we usually do so much and now I have to "rest" and walk as little as possible for the next 2-3 weeks, if it doesn't ease I will have physio.. :wall2: And the best bit is I don't even know how it's happened..

Yes I am adding onto my rant.. lol easier than starting another thread, I think why I'm so wound up about it is because Odhráns poorly, had him at the out of hours doctor last night, he has a rattle in his chest, hoarse throat, slight temperature, playing about with feeds, and it's almost impossible to comfort him.. I just want to hold him and walk with him and make him feel better but I am like an OAP and can just about manage a shuffle.. Ughh why did this stupid thing have to have such crappy timing.. Or timing at all!

Oh I really feel for you!! My OH ended up in hospital with it 8 months ago. He went for a night out, walked quickly for a train and ended up vomitting and unable to walk with the pain while in a pub with his friends.
He went back to work after about 6 weeks but he still gets numbness in his foot and the nervey cramp in his right leg at times. For him they think he had a bulging disc in his back that was trapping the sciatic nerve so it'll always cause him bother.
It's so frustrating when you are normally so active but rest really is the only option for now. Not easy when you have little Odhran to take care of!! I hope you get some relief from it soon!! And I hope Odhran feels better too

I'm sore but by the sounds of your OH's pain, not as sore as him :-o.. Good to know he is back to normal, apart from the numbness etc.. I hope it doesn't effect me long term.. Running about after a LO is hard enough without a wonky back.. Thanks for the reply  And I'm gobsmacked by all of these tickers, I cant believe everyone is so close to being mummys x

Pain is so subjective, you are probably in the same amount of pain, but you know, my OH is male and at heart they are all pansies ;) Oh I'm cruel!!! :) I think the pain will limit what you do though, just make sure you pace yourself and try not to push through it as it's your bodies way of telling you to slow down.
And the tickers are scary! I've sprung into organising mode!! :)

im in the same boat hun, i have sciatica, it was confirmed in january and i was signed off for 3months! went back to work and im still in agony, i take strong painkillers everyday just to get me thru through the day.
I have phycio on the 23rd of june, its a utter nightmare hun so i really feel for you hun.
It cant be easy with a new baby either.

I get no sympathy either, i hope you do! i go to work, come home do all the housework, pick LO up from school etc, i hope your OH is helping you. My OH seems to think its not as bad as im making out to be. PFT!! x

It's a horrible pain, it's so hard to describe.. I am literally walking like a cripple, OH works lots but helps when he's here.. But be realistic, if he has a hunger pain or something he is OBVIOUSLY going to be sorer than me lol megsmeadow you are 100%.. I would love to see a man be hypnotized to feel childbirth :)

You poor thing, you have my sympathy and I hope it clears off and leaves you alone very quickly xx
