hi, im just over 4 weeks pregnant just found out, i lost twins in may due to a missed miscarriage and im terrified it will happen again! we want this baby more then anything, would anyone reccomend the home heart beat finders (cant remeber their names haha) also have a early scan 29th sept when ill be 6+4 weeks kjust want to se the heart beat!!

Hi lovely,

Firstly, so sorry for your loss. Secondly, congratulations on your pregnancy. You are super super early so you wont be able to find a heartbeat yet I'm afraid. Some can around 12 weeks... but we're told not to be disheartened or frightened if we can't find it at that point.

Sounds like the early scan is going to put your mind at ease a little, but with early pregnancy, every twinge, any discharge etc. is concerning to every woman (because we're so scared something will go wrong)... try to relax, I know that is such an easy thing to say but really, staying calm will help baby too.

GL xx

Hi loopylucy, sorry about you MMC amd congratulatioms you are pregnant....i can understand you are anxious. But like GL says...you need to try and relax if you can....although i know this is easier said than done. Ive been contemplating getting a doppler....but i am concerned that if one week i couldnt find heart rate, it might stress me out. Still undecided and im 10 weeks now. I think its possible to heart heartbeat with a doppler from 10 weeks so you are a wee bit early still.

Melly :) I got the angel sounds one from Tesco direct (£20, normally £39.99) and started using it at 13+2. I found my own heartbeat to begin with but then sure enough right down low was a faster beat. I check every day now and whilst the thought of 'what if I can't find it' does cross my mind, the time DH and I spend just listening once I've found it is just magical. The midwife found the heartbeat at 11 weeks with her Doppler so it's possible.

xx

Thanks for that..its reassuring to hear that...and what a bargain! Might look into that now x

im just praying everything will be ok, im trying my hardest to relax and stay positive, my partner keeps saying it iwll be fine this time. my belly is bloated and HUGE!! just keepinh everyhting crossed

The first few weeks are the worst as so much anxiety around x

Looked at tesco direct and there £39.99 now. Argos have them for £35 so might nip down when DH back from work x

Aw Hun. I know the worry is horrendous, I've been pregnant once before and I lost it before I even got to 5 weeks. Baby's heart doesn't start beating till about 6 weeks so you won't find it yet. I've got my early scan on Tuesday I'll be 6wks plus 3 just to see a heart beat, if they can't find it they'll rescan the following week. I understand your need for some sort of medical confirmation.
