Advice please...

I woke up this morning to some spotting, kind of thin and brownish (tmi  ) Was only a little but I rang emergency docs as my surgery is closed over weekend, and was told to not worry unless I get bad pain or heavier bleeding, and to ring my doc monday for referral for a scan.

But its getting worse and I have achy back pain like Im getting AF :(
I'm scared to wait till monday but I dont know what to do...I know some of you have had similar things - do you mind me asking was there a lot of blood/discharge?
Why does this have to happen on a saturday morning when I cant get any help?

it can be quite normal so try not to worry too much, but if it gets worse or u are really worried then go to your local casualty as they will see you.

hun i dont know what to say. But keep tight just wait until monday & rest if the bleeding gets uncontrolable go to A & E

I am in same position as you here to talk if you need

dont mean for this to sound harsh.. but theres nothing that they can do for you if you are miscarying unfortunatly..i fell down the stairs at 12 weeks and they said that to me.. evrything was fine.. and they say that brown spottings normal around time af is due brown blood is old blood.. rest as much as you can. xx hope its ok x

You can have a light period during the first stages of pregnancy, along with the period pains. However, if you are that worried, get yourself down A&E, don't sit around waiting. Like it has been said, there is no stopping a miscarriage but A&E can put your mind at rest.

Good luck though xx

dont mean to sound harsh or insensitive but i have had this problem i found out i was pregnant and at 5.5weeks i started getting spotting and back/tummy pain and spotting became worse so i was seen in A&E and they were pretty good told me that if it was a M/C they could not stop it. however my urine tested neg for pregnancey by this time i was having heavy red bleeding like a heavy peiod.

they told me i was never pregnant but i asked how they explain 7 BFP HPT's so i was told on EPU that it may have been a chemical prgncy - ends before its begun. i felt A&E were great and supportive but once i was on EPU they were not very nice - i kind of felt i was wasting there time - twats :(

but huni if u are worried please please go to A&E even if they just put ur mind at ease - sitting worrying until monday will give u more stress which isnt good for ur bean

sorry if i have offended/worried anybody it was meant that way just wanted to share my experience

I was told that they measure a lot of blood being if you need to change a pad every hour or so.

I had brown discharge at 7 weeks. It was only there when I wiped.

I passed bright red blood and clots at 8 weeks. Again it was mostly down the toilet and on the toilet paper.

I went to my EPU to get checked out and everything was fine. I am sure things will be fine with you too as like the others said, Spotting and discharge can be quite normal in early pregnancy. Please go to A&E if you are doubled over in pain or bleeding heavy.

Let us know how you are getting on. xxx

i never had any blood or brown discharge but i did hav af pains, in fact i didnt test until i was 6 weeks coz i so thought i'd get af any day!
good luck, hopefully u'll b fine

i had a similar thing when I was pregnant with my son. I think i was around 10 wks, in the car on a 4 hour journey to wales, on the way to my husbands grandads funeral. Stopped at the services and discovered what i thought was quite heavy bleeding, scared the hell out of me. Had to go through the whole funeral thinking i was miscarrying, went to dr on the monday (2 days later), she was horrible said theres nothing you can do about it. I ended up going to the hospital for a scan, turned out baby was fine and i had a cyst on my ovary. I hope everything turns out o.k for you but please don't sit there worrying. Get yourself to the hospital, that's what they're there for. At least you will be able to find out one way or another.

Thank you all so much, I know there is nothing I can do if I'm going to miscarry, but I dont want to be this stressed if everything is fine, somehow I could accept it if they told me its over, its the not knowing whats happeneing thats driving me mad. :(

Still getting it this morning so maybe I will go to A+E rather than wait for tomorrow.

Thanks for your help

hiya clarey was just wondering if the bleeding is red? with any clots? if its not then you dont need to worry, if there is then i'd go to a&e. If you do miscarry (fingers crossed you wont!) then you need to be checked over, things can get "stuck" sometimes (not very often) i hope that doesnt seem insensitive, i know how awful it is not knowing whats actually going on, my thoughts are with you hun

Update...

Well I went to the drop-in clinic at my local hosp, you are supposed to be referred by the emergency doc, but a nurse assessed me and I got to see a doctor.

He doesnt think I have an ectopic but maybe threatened miscarriage so he has got me a scan at the EPU tomorrow morning. I didnt even know this out of hours service existed -we just walked past the clinic door on our way to the A+E entrance!

Feel a bit better now I know we will get a scan tomorrow and after all your advice, fingers crossed it will all be OK

Glad you got seen today...

Wishing you well tomorrow...

Fingers crossed that everything will be fine hun

Hope everything goes ok for you tomorrow.
As ive said b4 on here ive had bleeding since week 6, dark brown mainly but have had one day of red blood. I had a scan too and everything was ok, they couldnt see any reason for bleeding.

Sending positive vibes for you, hope everything is ok  .

Hiya,

Well I went to the EPU yesterday for an early scan. They did an external one and could see the pregnancy sac then an internal one and we saw the heartbeat. Bean is absolutely titchy but nurse said everything looks as it should thid early and my ovaries etc look fine too. PHEW!

They said the bleeding is probably blood that has been sitting around since implantation and since I didnt have any implantation bleeding after OV that makes sense. Feel so much happier now and I can stop worrying about every twinge now I know bean is in the right place.

Thanks a million for all your advice and support - I really dont know what I would have done the last few weeks without you lot - its really hard when no-one knows yet!
