scan yesterday...

Had an appointment yesterday, and a scan, little Theo is growing fine he is just above the average line and is estimated to be about 51/2 pounds

All was well, but due to the high level of insulin I am taking I am to be monitered weekly at the hossy and weekly by m/w at my doctors too.

One good thing is that I am having weekly scans now and they are talking of taking me in at 38 weeks to deliver bubs just over 4 weeks to go

Getting really really excited now, and looks like I am gonna be a queue jumper

Glad the scan was good! It is great to see baby isn't it?

Why will they induce you at 38 weeks? Is it to stop baby getting too big?

It's great that they have a care plan in place that's so thorough! VERY exciting to have a possible end date!

Happybunny........They are thinking of inducing at 38 weeks coz I am on what the consultant calls a "hefty" dose of insulin. With GD they usually induce at 39 weeks, but I think they want me in asap, and I didnt want to scare myself silly by asking the ins and outs of why, so I am just leaving myself in their hands

Theo is not even a Biff, he is only just above the average line with his estimated weight, so things are looking good there, mind you I did think that 51/2 pounds at this stage is a bit big

Flowergirl and sianny......was lovely to see Theo, and they are really taking care of us at the hospital.

sounds like they are taking great care of you

they usually induce women with GD early before the baby gets any bigger. the extra sugar in the body affects the baby and makes him/her bulk out a bit
