Scan today

hey girls,

there is one advantage to being considered high risk and that is that i get a scan every 4 weeks so i've seen a fair bit of my little man.

as they do them often i haven't been getting pics but today the doctor was nice and gave one after i done a big 'ahhh' when looking at lo's profile.

good news all round still he is growing as expected, all measurements exactly as they would expect, heartbeat good, blood pumping from baby good - all really good news

they are scanning me regularly as they have always thought that lo's growth may tail off at some point during pregnancy - all due to a dodgy blood result at 12 weeks so far he has been fine. so they are seeing me again at 38 weeks..if his growth is still fine..they will leave me then for a totally normal labour, if it has tailed off..then i'll be induced early. at the moment though they are expecting him to be fine

the doctor also told me he is just under 5lbs!! seems big to me doctor didnt' say it was big but i've still got 6 weeks to go....! he's gonna be over 8lbs at least by then right??

anyway, as always i'm waffling..here is my little man at 34 weeks ...

Luckily the abdomen is on date but is very tall with long legs so I'm thinking that's where the weight is coming from oh and a big head not what I wanted to hear lol so you'll be fine if your wee man is under 5lbs lol x

I have my 34 week growth scan next Wednesday so i'll share his weight when I know!

awww lovely pic! i think the growth now should be about 1/2 lb a week (i could be wrong!) so that would make a normal 8lb ish baby x

I'm so jealous! I want another scan. He is soooo cute! I want to know if mine is as adorable. I did ask my midwife if there was any chance, as I have nothing since my 20 wk scan but she said no

Aww lovely pic hun. Glad to hear all went well. I've got my 36week scan on Monday so will find out LO's estimated weight then. At 30weeks he was 3lb10 so i'm kind of expecting a heavyweight!! xxx

lovely pic hun !!! Rhea weighed 4ib 13 oz at 34 weeks then at 36 weeks was estimated 6ib and was born weighing 6ib 9oz at 38 weeks !! xxxxxxxx

Pos it's a wonder why you got put thru all that stress in tri1 and 2. Little man is a great weight so it just makes you question how it all happened eh? Of course it's good that they were cautious but it put you through so much worry

tell me about it! thing is as well its kind of left me feeling that maybe there is still something wrong but we won't know until he's here

every scan is scary, each time the doctor has been really happy but right throughout they have worried he will stop growing..so they have to keep scanning me, which is fine while its all been good news

i've said to them so many times that they took the bloods while i was still getting over glandular fever and maybe this effected the result and each time they say 'maybe' but i suppose they are just being safe. was soooo stressful at the time though!!

glad you all think he's a good weight..think around about 8lbs then!? i saw my friends today and they said that i will near enough know what he is going to be as they will tell me his weight at the 38 week scan

Oh wow that is big!! I have a feeling that LO has about doubled in size since then tho - u should see the size of my bump, it's massive! R u having any more growth scans Princess? Will be interesting to see how acurate all of these estimated weights actually are!
