Hallo all. I had my second scan in 3 weeks this morning - the last one I had af and they want to compare it with this one..... just wondered if anyone else had this done? something to do with the uterus lining thickness I think. I've had so many scans in the last year they can't be hoping to find anything else.... They said it'll be back at my gp's in a few weeks. Noone is in a rush are they?! Hope everyone is alright! xxx

No not had repeat scans, but at least they are covering all the bases :)

Have you actually been to speak to a specialist in fertility because GPs aren't really qualified to interpret a collection of results on a specific area. They just get told whether something is normal or not and then they tell you whether it's normal or not and anything else is just opinion.

A few weeks  I don't see why it'd take that long to glace at a couple of scans nexts to each other...

Hey Sarah,
Yeah I've had soooo many scans I've literally lost count! :)
One of the ones I had was to check the thickness of the lining of the womb at different times of the month to see that it's nice and thin after AF, and then thickening sufficiently later in the cycle for the egg to implant.
I also had ones at different times of the month to look at the ovaries, to see how many follicles were developing (it gives them an idea of your 'ovarian reserve', ie basically are you running out of eggs or not!)
Good luck with the results - ask them to explain everything to you when the results come through :)
Xx

Thanks for info Bead, I guess that's what they are looking for then! Eeek I hope at my age I'm not running out....but I guess anything is possible huh?!

No Louise I haven't been referred to a specialist yet, my GP is a little bit too calm about the whole thing for my liking......... maybe as its been a year since my MC she is waiting until it is 2 years.... I will ask if nothing comes of the scans etc etc. next time I go.

I know, how long can it take? :wall2: will ring next week and see if results are back. x x x x x x

It always takes a few weeks as the consultant has to report on the scans so go etc can interpret the results. Unfortunatley most sonograghers could interpret them but r not allowed to say as the haven't the qualifications or entitlement to do so. The Nhs r very short staffed and very busy. I know this doesn't help or anything but they don't take ages on purpose. Hope u get the results and that asap sarah

Hi Hun,

When I had my last one she talked me through everything and showed me my ovaries and the one that was mature and about to pop, and then my womb, and the lining which she said was a nice thickness for that part of the cycle.

I guess I kind of got the results there and then but I have my next fertility appointment on the 24th so they may discuss it further there.

Good luck for your results anyway hun.

xx
