Hi all

Went for 12 week scan today, so worried beforehand but glad to report all looks fine, and there is only 1 baby in there (my inlaws had been winding me up as theres twins in the family!) Had date brought forward a few days too which was nice.

This is going to sound stupid as I'm so pleased to have had the scan, , but was anyone else really disappointed with their scan picture? Mine is just a grainy blur :-( I know the main thing is checking everything going well, but after seeing lots of lovely clear pics of my friends scans was really disappointed.

T x

I was like you really worried before hand. My pictures were all varied I had four taken and printed in total one was a blurry blob but the rest you could make out legs and arms on so pretty happy with it.

Also when I had my scan done I had a really full bladder wasn't allowed to go loo till after even though you didn't have to have a full one. even the women scanning said it was amazing how I had hung on for so long as it was really full. I guessed that helped for the main pictures which are really clear.
What was yours like?

I did the full bladder thing too - soooo hard not to pee when she pushed the ultrasound scanner on me! :-)

They only printed off one pic for us, can kind of make out head, body and where the arms and legs are, but its really blurred. Maybe the baby was just wiggling about too much, it had moved lots when getting the actual scan done. Or just not a very good scanning machine at this hospital??

we had to pay for all of ours £2 a pop. What with the parents on both sides split lol.

I don't know why but i have to agree that loads of picutres I have seen are really blurry just think it might be the people doing the scanning or machines... :S

Oops tried to add one of those ticker things showing size of baby but it hasn't worked!

its cool well your further gone than i was when i went for my scan tell me what you think of mine any better than yours?

glad your scan went well, and bay is happy and healthy, all the hosps seem to varry in budget for these scanners , look forwrad to your 20 week one, the time will soon fly by.

re tickers, did you cut and paste the BB code one, into your sig as thats the one you need, preview it before saving

Do you get a pic from the 20 week scan too? Think that is taking place at different hospital so equipment might be better. Those pics above defo better quality than mine.

Thanks re the ticker, will try that! x

i had the opposite with the scan pics when i was carrying my son leo (now 3yrs)

the 12 weeks scan pics were brilliant and then the 20wk ones were awful we could barely make out a baby.
The main thing that was annoying was that she got a proper close up of his face front on and didnt bother to freeze frame it...and i never saw it only DH did....blooming cow she was.

I was in there for ages trying to get all the measurements i swear its coz her blooming scanning gel was warm instead of cold.

My 14 week scan was an awful picture! Very grainy too.. Although for me they used a more modern machine for the 20 week scan so they can see everything properly so fingers crossed you get lots of clear ones then :) x

nah I havne't had my 20 week one yet mines next month i'll only be 17 + 6 when i get it done i have to have it done then because seeing diabetic nurse because i have glucose intolerance :S lol so that will be fun as it is got go there next tuesday i feel like a right sicky had loads of appointments and stuff plus someone remind me book my midwife 16 week one lol i know im going to forget lol x

But when i get my next scan done I'll share that one too so we can all see x hoping its a girl :D x
