Looking for abit of advice ladies. We are hoping to get married in 2014, i know it seem ages away but with a LO on the way, i just keep spending, spending, spending and our savings acct is slowly being attacked.
What does everyone think of the saving acct that you cant touch for a certain length of time? Is it worth looking into one? x x

the best thing to save in hon is an ISA cos they are tax free. they are instant access but if you can be strict with yourself, these will give you the best return xx

Deffo look into something that you cant touch, or even withdraw from for a certain period of time.

The more you can get put away now, the less its going to hit you 6 months before when you have to start paying for everything.

I like my HSBC internet savings account. I have a direct debit pay into it every week but because I can only manage it online I can't just take money out while out shopping! I have to log on, transfer money to a current account etc, and by the time I've done that I change my mind and decide to save it instead :) But it gives you that option if you desperately need the money straight away.

Thank you for the advice ladies, im going to nip into the bank when I have chance and set something up x x

I have credit union. Comes straight out my wages and is pesky to get at. I don't miss it and will now have a nice little sum when baby arrives to take more time off work :) really handy and I wish I'd started it years ago  I will keep it up though for bdays and Xmas :) xx

:yay: we have started saving for our wedding :D In 2014 im going to be a Mrs m2a.
Thanks for all the advise ladies, we have looked at various saving accts and in the end the ISA won, its not limited access so will have to be good but we transfered the first amount of money in this morning, its so exciting :D x x

Thats so exciting m2a!! 2014 will be here before you know it :) do you have any wedding plans in mind yet?

We did want to get married in Crete, in one of the small Creatin churches but it turns out the one we wanted is greek authodox church so im not quite sure if we can so we are now thinking more of a traditional English wedding and go to Crete for our honeymoon but were not 100% decided yet.
Its more the meaning of the day rather than all the fancy things for me so id be quite happy to run to Scotland tomorrow :D x x

You've got it spot on there my lovely & that's what I said to the OH 'A wedding is for one day but a marriage is for a lifetime'

xxxx
