I started Harry on infacol on Monday & is taking it brilliantly. However today ive had 4 full, runny nappies. He seems very unsettled & keeps having wee bouts of crying. The only thing I can think of that's changed that might have caused a wee upset tummy is the infacol. Anyone else had experience of this? Or any other idea what might be wrong? He doesn't seem to have slept much today & still doesn't seem to be going down. Hes 2 weeks & bottle fed xx

Sorry hun I've not had this experience with infacol. That's not to say that's not what's causing it. Maybe give it a day or 2 and if still no better ask ur doc? Or even the pharmacist x

Tapatalking from my blackberry!

We had this with colief. I spoke to the pharmacist as she wouldn't wind either and he suggested taking her off it and bk to infacol. Its maybe not agreeing with harry-but like jayjay says, speak to someone if it doesn't improve xx

Sent from my BlackBerry using Tapatalk-its rubbish tho so can't see tickers or upload pics!

We had a few extreme nappies for the first few days on infacol but it seemed to calm down again now and it's been about 5 days since we started on it! Winding is so much easier! X

Ohh really? Did your lo seem really unsettled too? Harry screamed for hours last night, he's not usually like that so could only put it down to the explosive nappies? Thought maybe the infacol had upset his tummy? Xx

Infacol takes a few days to build up so possibly your lo was in pain from trapped wind? We have tears when the wind is trapped but that's it now, before she would cry so much more :(

Use it at every feed, you can't give too much, it's not absorbed into the body do its not supposed to have and side effects other than shift the wind, think lo had a big clear out and now she's settled x

Yeah maybe. He's been pumping non stop since the day I started giving him it, so it maybe is just him shifting everything.
God it's just so worrying when they're crying like that and you can't seem to do anything about it :-(

How long has he been on it???

I did quite a bit of reading up about it before using it and it really isn't supposed to cause problems, its more likely to be something else or maybe its shifting everything which is uncomfortable??

If you think it's that then stop and see if it clears up, maybe try gripe water??

It is horrible when they can't tell you why they are crying!

Have you looked at colic and reflux??? X

Runny poos can be a sign of trapped wind, I'd def say it's that rather than a side effect from infacol.

Also, looking back I called my hv loads about my LOs poo - every week or so seemed to be different, but each time was reassured its their bodies adjusting etc.

Now LO is on solids...poo nappies take on a whole different meaning!! :-/

Hey hun, I wonder if its just a wee stage they're going through. MJ has been like this the last 3 days, very unsettled and crying more. Someone told me that he's probably just realising he's here lol. Only thing that settles him is swaddling. Had a couple of hugely full nappies too, I burp him after every ounce he takes in as he's a guzzler and will sick up if I let him go for it on the bottle but it could be some wind I missed I wonder? Hope you get to the bottom of it soon! xxx

When I put Albert on infacol he literally exploded in a shower of shite lol. It soon cleared up though and he was much better, farting away like a goodun which is what he needed

Ethan has infacol in all of his bottles but we've never had trouble with runny poos! xx
