I was reading in my little book to maybe start a routine now
what time do u guys start urs in the eve? i'm gonna start doing baths now b4 bed lol

I started bathing Arianna and putting her down at 11pm when she was about 5wks old and then each week I'd put her down 30min earlier. Now I bath her at 6.30pm cuddle her and play with her and then she goes down at 7.30pm and sleeps right through to 8am.

I defo receomend trying to get a routine sorted as it gives you "you time"

Nathan seems to have got himself into quite a good routine. Hes started settling into it around 7 weeks. I don't bath him before bed as my other 2 are in bed and it would wake them. He has his last bottle around 9pm and by 9.30 hes falling asleep and i put him up at 10pm. If he doesn't fall asleep by 10pm i put him up anyway and he always goes off. I only put him in his cot at night and he naps in his chair in the days so he knows when hes in his cot its night. I'm gonna start bringing his bed time earlier soon. I think its great to get your kids into a routine so you can get a bit of piece but i do find it ties you down some times although its worth it.

I didn't bother starting witrh a routine for ages but I would next time as it has helped alot. I started with the routine of bathing Jake in the evening, putting his pj's on, giving him his bottle and then rocking him to sleep and putting him down. At first Jake was going bed at about 10.30pm which was an improvement and gradually it has got earlier and earlier. After I had been doing the routine for a few weeks I also started reading Jake a story and putting him down at about 8pm to fall asleep on his own. I thought it would be a nightmare but I only went in to him twice and he was asleep for the night. Now Jake goes bed at 7pm every night and falls asleep on his own. I would recommend putting Riley down to fall asleep on her own as I have spoken to friends who didn't do this and they have had massive problems getting their LO's to go to sleep on their own.

By the way as Riley is so young I wouldn't worry if it doesn't work straight away. Riley might not start getting in to a routine until she is a couple of months old.
