Hi ladies

I am new to this section of the forum, been on and off TTC (and various other boards) for the past year or so. My hubby and I have been trying for a year (and a bit - i lose track). We lost one baby last year and I think I've had several early m/c in the last 9 months or so. I've been backwards and forwards to gp and hospital lots:

After m/c I had several bacterial infections and no af for aaaages, so had lots of scans and tests done, and treated for bacteria and some other stuff (so much going on I don't remember)

Been back to gp recently due to changes in cycles - I have lots of different symptoms including really up and down with depression (only had this since m/c), large clots and v heavy bleeding during af, cycles getting more irregular, tender breasts throughout month.....and lots of other things really! It gets me down so much and I'm so tired of feeling so ill all the time.

Had smear tests came back clear, then had scans and going back for another scan and probably some blood tests in a few weeks. So far all I've been told is that my endometrium lining is too thick (but they are going to check it in a different part of the cycle). My GP said the most likely thing is a hormonal problem.
So I'm just wondering if anyone has been through the same thing really? or anyone have any advice?

Its so annoying seeing everyone else pregnant (i know that's selfish!) - we dont smoke, dont drink, I've just lost 3 1/2 stone so I'm back to size 12 and we both doing more exercise and eating better. Typical isnt it?! :wall2:

Rant over!! and apologies for the long post xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hiya Sarah :)

I'm really sorry about everything you've been through, i'm sure this is the last thing you need :(

Well done on the weight loss and not smoking and drinking though - it's still a really positive thing to have accomplished

Have they made any link to the m/c and any of your symptoms?

I'm not too sure about what advice to give because i'm sure that there isn't really anything else that you can be doing.

Eating healthy is a good idea, as per usual - oh, and dairy products have been linked to having an adverse effect on hormones because they give the cows hormones to make them produce milk all year which are then expressed into the milk.

Hi Louise :) Thanks - I do feel really healthy after losing the weight etc. I see you are losing weight too - good luck, I'm sure you'll be there in no time. Uh oh on the dairy thing, I love cheese!! But thanks for the heads up!
They have just said that it might be a hormonal problem which is then causing a fertility problem, so may or may not be linked to m/c.... you know what gp's are like! Its nice to see I'm not alone in all this though. To be honest I'm feeling quite relieved at the moment and much happier after finding out that there might actually be a problem, rather than just things inside my head - that probably sounds weird!
So are you having IVF? good luck!! :)

Hi Sarah
Sorry you've had so much trouble with TTC. Who would have thought that TTC could be so difficult until you actually try :-(?
I'm glad your docs are running tests, and I know what you mean, if you have a diagnosis at least there is hope that they can so something about it.
Well done on the fab weightloss and general health kick, will be very beneficial WHEN you have your baby xxx

Yes, it can make all the difference just to feel like you are getting somewhere :)

Yeah, i'm having IVF - well probably ICSI - but yes :)

Not being able to conceive and finding out something is wrong and even going through treatment pales in comparison to the bits inbetween where you don't have a clue and don't feel like you're going bloody anywhere ;)

Hopefully the tests will reveal what's going on xx

Hi sarah! I don't really know whats wrong with my body yet (or if there's something wrong), because Im seeing a specialist in April together with hubby!

But sounds like you have had a hard time! I wish you all the best and hope you figure it out!!

lots of hugs

Hi Sarah,

Hope you're ok. :hugs:

I've been trying for nearly a year and have had 1 early M/C and what I think were 2 chemicals.

I've had all the diagnostic tests done and all have come back ok, apart from my smear so I have a colposcopy on Thursday. Also Hubby has had his semen analysed which came back good but I have been referred to the fertility clinic anyway and when I'm sorted with my colposcopy, they're going to give me Clomid to help regulate and shorten my long cycles and to help me OV earlier too to give me a longer luteal phase.

Have you been referred yet?

xx

eek! sorry for the massive wait in replying here I have been away on a holiday (needed the break). Was nice to be away but now I'm back feel as though I haven't been anywhere!
Glad to hear things are progressing for you Maybe. No, to be honest I've had nothing in terms of support or treatment from the Nhs. When I went for a scan last year after 9 weeks of bleeding and infection from the first m/c they finally started listening and gave me some treatment for that, but then afterwards I wasn't re-tested or anything.
I've had an ultrasound and internal scan a few weeks ago and going for another one next mon - something to do with checking the thickness of my uterus as it was too thick last time. Then hopefully they will do some blood tests aswell. My cycles are the same as yours - too long and ov too late with short l/p..... But I know just telling that to the gp they won't do anything! So annoying aren't they?!

All our friends are getting married and pregnant atm, I hate all this kind of 'silent' pressure from family and friends. I feel like telling them everything just to shut them up. Its really hard doing all this on your own.... Plus I feel like its putting a big massive hole in our marriage. TTC officially sucks.

Sorry for long post!
On the plus side I got a new fitness game for the Wii today and feel like I've done some good work!
Love to all xxxxx
