Rice Pudding

Im making rice pudding for Corey using his prescription formula...

1st thing - there seems to be LOADS of sugar in rice pudding... do I have to put in that much!??

2nd thing - can I use basmati rice?! LOL as Tesco didnt have any desert rice?

You can cut the sugar down to about half but it probably wouldnt be sweet enough for me lol. Im not sure about the rice though i've only ever used dessert/pudding rice when making rice pudding.
Tis very yummy made in the slow cooker.
