I have checked today and my blood group is O Negative which I know can affect baby if he/she is positive.

What happens now? should I just wait til my midwife appointment on the 8th December or should I contact her now?

If I am honest I am a little worried now again.....

you dont have to worry hun, theres quite alot of ladies who are Rh-, me in cluded!you will need anti-D jab at 28 weeks but your midwife will arrange this with you in advance :) xx

No need to worry your midwife will sort out an anti-d for you! Mine was booked a couple of weeks ago for January. You have plenty of time to sort it out

I'm O neg too, nothing to worry about but if you receive a hefty blow to your stomach call the triage midwife who may tell you to go to the maternity unit for an anti D shot as a precaution :)

I was rhesus negative too and you just get anti d injections at 28 weeks. Rarely it affects the baby. It affected Louie though but he just has some problems with his blood but nothing major an he is fine now xx

hey hun i'm b negative and i've got to have my anti-D in 5 weeks time just remember you need to have blood tests before you have the injection and it should be done at your local hospital but your midwife will go through that and you will have all the paper work and your card (states your name hospital number and blood type on it) you need to keep that on you at all times because if anything ever happens you need to inform the medical service immediatley i'll let you know how i get on when i have mine on 2nd jan xxx

When you say you checked do you mean you got the results of your bloods from your 12 weeks tests or you checked form historical records of bloods taken?

Just asking cos I was O neg but when I had my bloods taken at my 12 week they came back positive, MW said that the equipment used these days is more modern so they can move lots of Neg people into pos catagory so you might be ok either way I know loads of people who needed the anti D and it was grand xxx

i had mine done at 13 weeks i think i cant really remember may have been when i had my downs syndrome tests xx

I had bloods taken at 12 weeks to be fair I was looking at my blood donor card :), maybe nt the best thing to look at but if they don't get it right i'm concerned......

Double check at your next MW appointment, i cant remember what happens to begin with as my first baby was nearly 4 years ago so i told them prior with jake and this baby that i was o neg. Im sure mw will put your mind at ease when you next speak to her xx

Im rhesus negative, as well I mentioned this at my first appointment and been tested and i am i have my anti d injection booked for a few week, so dont worry hunnie just mention it at your next appointment and you will be tested anyway. XX

I am also o neg, I knew this anyway coz I,ve already two, but she took my bloods at my first ante-natal appointment at 11+2 weeks. They gave me my results when I went for my scan and I,m booked in for anti-d at 28 weeks. If your baby's is rhesus positive you,ll also have another anti d after the birth. My oh is also rhesus neg, so I don,t need to have another. If you have any bleeding at all you,ll also have to have it, my friend had about 5 of them coz she kept bleeding.

Didnt mean to worry you hun, Its not that they dont get it right its just that if you were tested previously the machines they use now are more advanced and as neg or pos is not black or white its on a scale they can move some neg people onto the pos side thats all. But being neg is so common its just a normal part of pregnancy these days to get the anti D so try not to let it stress you hun

I'm A- an had the AntiD at 28 weeks. OH is A+ and Jack's cord blood was tested when he was born and he's 0+ (a different group to us altogether lol) so I had to have another AntiD to protect any future babies. It's really nothing to worry about x

i'm the same hun, Rh D- been told to take more iron supplements but to get a anti-d injection in jan, like the girls said at 28 weeks xx

Hi hunny I'm A rh neg and had a letter through to say I have to have a jab at 28 weeks. I knew I was this blood group from an operation I had when I was a kid.
I have to carry Afars around with me for emergencies. I'm also allergic to penicillin and amoxicilin!! I'm a right case lol!! X
