Reviews??

I've been having a nosey at travel systems online - just to give me a heads up before we go out to play with them.

But there seems to be absolutely loads of BAD reviews on just about everything.

How much attention do people pay to online reviews?? I always kinda felt that people are more likely to write a review when something goes wrong.

My Dad was totally against the pram my brother bought cos of all the bad reviews - but they've had no problems with it.


Did anyone change their mind based on a review?? Or wished they'd listened to them a bit more?

I think everyone has different needs and different tastes. Write a list down of your priorities, and check through what the strengths and weaknesses of all the travel systems are.

I'm sure the ladies on here will help you out too.

There are loads of videos on youtube how to use travel systems, I was having a wee look the other day.

My priorities are lightweight, small folding size and easy transfer from pram to buggy to car seat.

Value for money is a huge bonus!!

I like the Petite Star Zia 4+ as it has all these things. I looked at some others too but there were things about all of them that didn't suit me but other people loved.

Each to their own!!

I agree with leesey the only time I listen to reviews is when there is reacurring manufacturing faults.

I personally always listen to reviews, especially for big purchases, as i think if lots of people have taken the time to write reviews - whether good or bad - it must be for a reason.
After spending weeks going to shops and looking through lots of reviews we have decided on the Mamas and papas Sola travel system as it has amazing reviews and was perfect for everything we needed: it's a compact size, lightweight, has an adjustable height handle (as my husband and i are quite tall) and just clicks on and off from carrycot to carseat and to buggy. It was the best we found and we really did do our research!

I find with everything in life that people are quick to complain anf slow to praise.
As the girls said, have a list with u and see how the systems compare to ur list

I've gone for the Mamas and Papas Ultima. It get's some stick in some online reviews but for what were going to need it for, I think it'll be perfect. I do always think people are very quick to post something negative and not so for anything positive! Mumsnet is always good for reviews. It has a specific buggy section that I went through.

I got confused by all the information online. I went down the line of going to a couple of shops which displayed a lot of different sorts and giving them a good test. When we found one we liked they even allowed us to fold it down and check the weight and that it fit in the car etc. We then went home and checked it out reviewise. Also we found the best price for it by trawling the internet.

I feel the same pinky - definitely lots more negative reviews for everything than their are positive.

I was having a nosey at the M&P pliko pramette online - which seems to do everything I'm looking for (although do plan to have a test with it) - but one sites review gave it 2.4/5 and only 30% of people would recommend it. Also looked at the silver cross 3D and its reviews were terrible as well - although thats what my brother had without issue.

Nice to hear what other folk think of online reviews.

What pram are you looking at?

1st time around we chose the Silver Cross 3D. It really gets some stick online in reviews. But it was fab, we loved it and never had any problems with the system. (I did have the hood replaced but that was after 2yrs!)

Look at reviews, but definitely form your own opinions.
Look at what you need and see what travel system fits x
