We move in 4 weeks and the stairs have a really ornate end bit on the banister, i dont want to start hacking it to bits!

Does anyone have a kiddyguard retractable baby gate? been looking at them, theyre pricey but look very good

Another thing, do they stiffen up when you lean on them, as surely if they continue to open out then the baby will fall down the stairs

We've got one and I love it.
It's so compact. When it's not shut, you would hardly know it's there.
You can't lean against it because it's taut when closed if that makes sense. It has a good child lock too. Lx

We have a standard stairgate which is not wide enough for our stairs... do the retractable ones have any wider settings?

Here are the dimensions Leckershell if that helps. xx

H80 x W130cm max

We have a retractable stair gate at the top of the stairs (was gifted to us by friends :cheer: ). I love it, very discreet and compact when not in use and sturdy when in use - I have no worries it will fail and Evie puts her full weight against it to shout down the stairs :D
